Promises and worries

Bane and I stayed up most part of the night. Half of the time it was pure silence when after-hours my eyes weighed tons and I finally decided to retire, "I should get myself some sleep. You should too. We both have worried enough about Fang for the night."

With a nod, Bane glanced one last time at the moon before getting up, "let me walk you to your room." I presented him a controlled smile before he got up and we walked side by side. Even silence could bring you closer to people who would really count as your family when your blood betrays you. Bane proved it to me today. It wasn't hard to tell he was getting comfortable around me. We walked through the gigantic corridor which was being decorated even at this hour.

"What a grand wedding this is," I commented, awestruck by how much the work was actually being done within just hours.
