Stalking for Saving

Even though Winter managed to throw Marcellus off guard with that, she still didn't get away from his doubt and cynicism.

Then again, this particular individual seems to be the least he'd expect in that kind of incident. Ever since the two of them have started getting to know each other, he has learned a thing or two about her. For one, he already knows that she does not go out that often, and even if she does, there will be her bodyguards with her.

Violet is a sheltered heiress from a strict household - it will be normal to think that she is heedful enough to stay away from potential problems or dangers.

"So, you are thinking that Ms. Miller is some kind of an exception only because of that? Everyone can get into an accident, you know," Winter said and huffed, not at all convinced by his reasoning.

"Of course, I know that. I don't want her to get into any accident either. But to be honest, that is too big of a claim. Like most of what you keep saying, it's kind of hard to believe," Marcellus replied, expressing his doubt and concern.

"It's not a claim. It's what really happened. We shouldn't neglect this. You need her for something, right? That's why I tried to hook you up together."

"Did we not work out in the past?"

"No, you didn't. You wouldn't have gained her favor had it not for what I did in your date back then."

"Well, thanks for that. Still, I'm not sure what you want me to do about this matter. Do you even know how and where the accident happened?"

"I'm not certain. I just remember several details. That's why we need to follow her around to know more."

"Huh?!"

While he commends her willingness to help someone she does not even know that well, it seems to him that she is going too far with it. He can't do what she wants - not only because he's a little skeptic that it'll even happen, but also because he still has a lot of work to do.

However, if she turns out to be right, he needs to do something at least - he'll change whatever past she's been from without getting carried away in her overplayed schemes.

"Alright. I'll call Ms. Miller..." Marcellus started again, deciding to resolve this in his own way.

"I'll ask about what she's doing and tell her that she shouldn't go out. Tell me what she needs to avoid. I'll tell them to her too."

"That might not be enough. We really need to keep an eye on Ms. Miller," Winter insisted.

"As much as I want to make sure that nothing bad will happen, I still have things to do. I can't possibly watch over her all day like you want me to."

"Then, just tell me where she is. I'll do it on my own."

"You always know where I will be but you don't know about hers?"

"I can't be everyone's stalker, you know!"

"You just admitted you're stalking me, you know."

"Whatever! Just give me her location!"

All he can do is sigh at how stubborn she is.

She really is serious about this. And with how she is acting, he suddenly finds the need to do something more than make a phone call.

He then comes up with the decision to have his bodyguard go with her in his stead. This way, he would be able to monitor her movements as well. He would get to see if everything she said was true.

This will be his first test for her - if she happened to have been planning something underhanded all along, he will deal with her once and for all.

'That's right! I don't need him in this, anyway! I'll do it by myself if I have to...!' Winter bolted out inside her head, finding Marcellus, his strong sense of distrust in particular, as infuriating as it was incomprehensible.

'I'll definitely save Ms. Miller and have her join my side!'
