23: Alms giving
Mira and Mable go back home and are happy with what they did. Mira goes to her room and Mable goes to her matrimonial bedroom and is surprised to see that the is all decorated by Kel.
Kel gets closer to Mable, " I am so mad at you my love, you have time for everyone... the village, your family but not me it's not fair "
Mable embraces Kel," its nothing like that, okay then, we will have dinner together and spend quality time together "
Mable and Kel have dinner together and get close to each other. The next day, everyone is having breakfast at the table except Kel and his wife. Mark asks Mira to check on them and she goes there, when she knocks at the door and tells them to come downstairs, Kel and Mable realise they overslept. When they come to the table, Mira starts teasing them," wait a minute, why are you guys so late today,did something happen tell us mmm"
Aunt Mirabel asks Mira to stay quiet as she also laughs. Mable comes up with an excuse in hesitation," well uh...we...mean me, I had a lot of work last night...I... I don't know about Kel"
Kel remains speechless as the family makes fun of him. When Mable goes up to her room Kel starts to scold her," what type of a wife are you, your husband was in trouble and you didn't defend him "
Mable scolds him in return " you are busy shouting at me,you couldn't save us so I saved me, I am running late so I have to go, bye I love you and have a good day"
Kel remains in the bedroom mumbling to himself. Mable as always takes her best friend to the office with her. Two months later, in the evening, everyone is watching the news, and the news reporter reports that there where riots in over three villages, one is a Muslim village,the second one is a Hindu village the third one a Christian village and there that there is a food shortage and a homelessness crisis. Mable is touched and gets sleepless nights over the news. In the morning she speaks to the family about her motive to help the three villages. Kel, Mira and Salma agree with her but the rest of the family disagrees especially Mark, " why waste your money on helping the villages, come to think of it, we do not belong to the same religion, its okay if you help the Christian village but not the rest"
Mable explains why it is necessary to help one another, " father, I understand your point but we are all human,and helping one another regardless of race,religion or village. And who knows tomorrow father no one, we might need their help in the future and they will repay us the favor "
Riswan is touched by this explanation, " today I am proud to call you my daughter "
The entire family agree to go with Mable to give aid to the villages. They provide them with food, camping tents,free education to the children and free medical supplies. When they get back home Mable starts to feel dizzy and she collapses, Kel calls the family doctor and he gives them good news," don't worry, everything is okay, your wife is fine it's just that she is two months pregnant "
The entire family is happy to hear this good news, Just then, Salma receives a phone call from Tony, " hello mother... how are you and everyone else... I wanted to tell you that my wife is four months pregnant"
Salma expresses her happiness with the entire family as she puts the phone on a loud speaker,everyone congratulates him and when he hears of Mable's pregnancy, he congratulates her.
It seems like the families happiness is finally here. Will it last?
