The Chance

"Where... am I?" Obito asked, looking around in the white void that seemed endless all around him. He looked down at the rest of his body. He felt weightless, almost like he wasn't even there at all. A ghost. Even with the light around him he somehow felt discomfort, as if darkness was creeping up on him, waiting and watching him and aiming to strike when he least expected it.

The question he'd just asked was circulating in his head over and over. He couldn't get a grasp on where he was or was anything even moving. It was almost enough to drive him crazy. Underneath his hardened gaze, was a look lifelessness. Maybe he did deserve this. Perhaps this was the hell that was waiting for him, for all the sins he committed.

He chuckled hoarsely and slowly, getting to his feet just as slow. He took this moment to look everywhere and from his first moments of consciousness he could see that it looked to have no end and no beginning. It was all just there. A big, empty, and white space all for him to share alone and forever.

Well until a bright, white light spurred from in front of him. The light was so intense and focused that his unfocused eyes flinched closed as he attempted to cover them with his arm. He took several steps back until he felt he was far enough away from whatever appeared before him.

He took his hand down to see the Sage of Six Paths himself looking at him, expression unreadable. His eyes felt piercing and his Rinnegan seemed to glower at just the sad sight of him. And honestly he couldn't or wouldn't blame them.

"Obito Uchiha," the Sage started slowly, voice deep and all encompassing. "How are you? We're your travels to this realm bumpy?"

Obito's mind was in such disarray that it completely ignored the first question, clutching onto the first until he could provide an answer. But he couldn't. He didn't know how he felt right now. Was he ok? He wanted to beat the light white ground beneath him in frustration, his brain coming up with no answer as to solve this question. So he looked at the Sage blankly and said nothing at all.

His stare persisted as the Sage looked back at him as blank as ever. He cleared his throat, breaking the almost awkward stare down the two seemed to have.

"I'll get straight to the point then. Obito Uchiha, for all intent and purposes you should be convicted for your sins before I send you to the afterlife. However, I'd like to ask you something. Would you like to fix those mistakes?"

Confusion quickly took over from the blank look in his face. His eyes narrowed, not in suspicion but in question. "What are you talking about?"

The Sage chuckled lightly. "I'm asking you do you want to fix your past mistakes and go back to the past?"
