I Regret Nothing That Happened

Sterling

My phone began to ring as I began to gather my things. I pulled it out of my pocket to see my mother's name on the screen. I answered it and held it up to my ear. "Hello?"

"Hey honey." Her voice was pleasant as she spoke. "I was hoping you'd stop by for dinner tonight."

"What are you making?" I asked as I opened the door to my office.

"Spaghetti." She answered.

"I'll be right there." I responded before saying goodbye to her.

I glanced over at the empty desk as I placed my phone back into my pocket. I had already let Isabelle leave for the day thirty minutes ago. After the moment in my office I didn't want to keep her here longer than necessary.

She was already attempting to avoid me again. She only came into the office when I needed something but even then she didn't look me in the eye. I should feel satisfied that I had gotten from her the answer I wanted, but I wasn't. I possibly could have just fucked things up even worse.

What I should have done was sat down and had a real conversation with her, but things went further than I intended. I had been so swept up in the moment that I had gotten carried away. My lust for her had taken over me. Now that I had a taste of her I was craving more. I wanted to explore every inch of her perfect body.

I'm well aware that my actions were wrong. I may be unhappy with every intention of leaving Elise, but we still weren't broken up. I'd be lying though if I said I felt guilty. Two wrongs don't make a right but I regret nothing that happened.

I got into my green Lamborghini and headed for my parent's mansion. I was looking forward to seeing my mother but I wasn't so sure about seeing my father and Scarlett. I knew they would both have something to say, especially Scar considering I hadn't seen her since the Thanksgiving dinner.

I drove for about twenty minutes before I pulled into the driveway. I got out of the car and walked up to the front door. I rang the doorbell and waited for it to open. Scarlett was the one who came to answer.

She opened the door slightly and peaked out. "Sorry, just making sure the witch didn't tag along with you."

"Real funny Scar." I scoffed as I pushed the door open to let myself inside.

"What?" She closed the door and followed me to the living room. "I just wanted to be prepared in case a house was on it's way to fall on her."

"Scarlett." My mother spoke in a warning tone. "Ease up on your brother, he's been dealing with your father all day."

"Not all day." My father chimed in as he sat on the couch. "He had to go handle some personal business apparently."

"What personal business?" Scarlett raised a brow. "Did you finally dump the bitch?"

"Scarlett!" My mother shot daggers at her with her eyes.

My father stood up from the couch and joined the rest of us. "Well, did you dump the bitch or not?" His tone was flat as he repeated Scarlett's question.

"I haven't even talked to her." I answered. "I was trying to talk to Isabelle."

"Oh, talking to Isabelle? How did it go?" My mother asked with a concerned tone.

I try to fight back the urge to blush. The last thing I needed was for them to know talking wasn't exactly on what happened. With Scarlett I would never live it down. Unfortunately my sister could read me like a book.

"Judging by the look on his face it must've gone really well." Scarlett smirked as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"Oh really?" My father questioned.

I was searching for the best way to answer when thankfully my mother stepped in. "Leave him alone." She spoke sternly to both my father and Scarlett. "The man has enough going on, the last thing he needs is the two of you to add to it."

"You're right mom." Scarlett's tone was innocent as she spoke. She then turned back to me. "Besides, Satan makes your life miserable enough. The least we can do is sit back and let you handle this thing on your own, no matter how you see fit."

She didn't let me get another word in before she headed to the dining room alongside my mother. That was Scarlett for you, she had to always have the last word. I feel bad for the poor man who falls in love with her. She's amazing and I love her, but she's sassy and has no problem putting up a fight on something. No matter how small it is.

My father closed the gap between us. "It's none of my business and I won't judge the way you do things, but might I suggest you handle your problem before you start seducing your assistant?"

He turned around and walked to the dining room to join my mother and sister. I let out a low sigh to myself as I followed behind him. He was right, he was absolutely fucking right. I needed to get rid of Elise sooner rather than later.

My father took his seat across from my mother. I took the one next to him that was across from Scarlett. My mother was serving up the food. She had made up a green salad and some breadsticks to go with the spaghetti. It looked fantastic.

"How are things with the baby?" I asked. I wanted to make conversation on anything but my love life.

"Great." She smiled. "He's growing amazing."

"Good." I responded before taking a bite of the meal.

"Sterling, while we're gone I think Killian will be watching over Tipton Enterprises. I want to see what all that friend of yours can do." My father commented once he swallowed his sip of water he had taken.

"I think that would be really good." I agreed with him.

Killian had a lot of potential. His father was a company owner himself but set Killian's brother up to take over. Killian was a little upset by it and refused to work for him since he didn't even give him a chance. He went to my father for a job as he felt that maybe he would see his potential. He hasn't really talked to his parents since.

"How is Killian?" Scarlett coyly asked.

"He's fine." I answered for her.

I knew she had a crush on him. It was obvious with how she acted when he was brought up. They were seven years apart, about the same age gap as our parents. Not that Killian would do anything with her. She was too young for him. He also liked to get around. Once Scarlett was of age she was off limits to him, there's no way I'd let her heart be broken by him.
