When Xavier woke up, he tried to open his eyes, but somehow it took a great effort. His eyelids felt heavy, extremely heavy. Not only his eyelids were heavy, but he also felt that his body too won't respond as he wanted it to.
After struggling a while, he managed to open his eyes. He looked at the ceiling and felt nauseous. His head was spinning and hurt really bad.
With a lot of effort, Xavier put his hand on his forehead, and like he thought he was burning up.
[I have a fever.]
When he realized what was happening to him, he wanted to take fever reducers. So, when he tried to stand up, he noticed how weak he really felt that he even couldn't move a lot. He gave up after struggling a while and decided to sleep more.
[Maybe my fever would subside if I sleep a bit.]
With that thought, he was planning to take a nap, but before he could fall asleep, he noticed something strange.
[Huh?]
He opened his eyes once again. He fought against his drowsiness and looked carefully at the ceiling. He didn't realize it when he first opened his eyes but now, he looked closer it didn't seem like the same ceiling he normally saw.
Above him was the same white ceiling, but the pendant lamp that should be hanging there was different. In this room, there was a half-moon where a fishing person was sitting. The moon gave a yellow light, and the person's head was a light bulb.
In the room, he should have been was a pendant lamp that had a sun form. It was the pendant lamp from his childhood, but he liked it, so he never changed it. That is the reason why it disturbed him to see another lamp on the ceiling than it should be.
This time he forced his tired and weak body to sit up, so he could look better at the room he is currently in.
When he looked around, he noticed that this really wasn't his room at all. The difference wasn't too hard to find, but this didn't help reduce his confusion but made it increase.
[Why am I here?]
He knew that they could never change his whole room while sleeping in one night and Xavier would have noticed if someone were to change his room or take him somewhere else, so…
[What the F*ck is happening?]
He stood up with great effort and walked slowly around the room looking for any clue why he was here or where he actually was. In the end, he found nothing, he only confirmed that his fever only went up and he really was dizzy.
[I'll ask mom.]
He gave up searching and decided to ask his parents. He felt that they would know what happened to his room. Xavier ignored the fact that they maybe wouldn't be here in this house and just walked to the door, but before he could reach the door, he saw his reflection on the body mirror that was a part of the closet.
He looked shocked not because he thought he was handsome, but because he saw something unbelievable.
[This is me?]
He thought while feeling his face that looked different than before. The resemblance was there, but the difference was too hard to not miss that he felt speechless.
[This must be a dream?]
Xavier thought this really must be a dream or how else could he look different from normal even his room was changed without his notice.
The boy who was reflected in the mirror had golden hair and eyes. His skin was pale, but maybe that's because of the fever because his cheeks looked a bit red.
Xavier really felt lost. In reality, he had brown hair instead of golden and he wasn't that pale. He did have the same golden eye colour, but that was it.
When he stood before the mirror, he looked at his reflection. It really didn't feel real seeing his looks. The more he looked the more he felt convinced that this all should be a lucid dream. The reason why everything was different from normal was still a question, but he decided to not think about it.
He looked at his reflection and this time he did appreciate how he looked. He thought he really did look amazing even when he felt that he would die at any second because of the high fever.
[I'm really handsome. Even in my dream, I'm still amazingly handsome.]
He began to praise his face, but he noticed once again something strange.
[What is this?]
Something was peeking out of his clothes.
The pyjama he was wearing was just a regular pyjama with buttons on his shirt. It seemed that it wasn't buttoned neatly, so you could see the skin on his chest a bit. There he saw something that didn't seem normal.
Xavier was a bit curious, so he took a look at what it actually was. He pushed his shirt aside and looked at his chest. On his left side, he saw something amazing. There was a symbol.
Xavier knew when he looked at it that it wasn't a tattoo but a soul mark. Something he shouldn't have, but somehow, he had it right here on the left side of his chest.
The soul mark was an infinite symbol wherein the loops something was drawn. On the left loop, the bottom was coloured golden, and the rest was blue. On the golden surface was a small silver ball that was tied with a red thread. The other loop looked almost the same, but instead the bottom the above was coloured. The colour wasn't golden, but silver this time. There was a ball like on the other side, but with a golden colour.
The two balls were connected with a red threat and came together in the middle. There the two threads were tied together beautifully.
His head couldn't keep up with the information that he had a soul mark. He only looked dumbly at it and touched it carefully like he was afraid it would disappear in the tin air.
"Mine?", Xavier muttered quietly.
He already forgot that this could be a dream and was too focused on the mark to think about other things.
Confirming that this really wasn't a fake soul mark he was so happy that he couldn't speak what he felt at this moment right now.
Xavier was so thrilled that he jumped in the air screaming.
"Yes!", he screamed again and again.
"I have a soulmate!", Xavier screamed again before he fell on the ground.
"I have a soul mark.", he whispered before the darkness consumed him.
