Riya looked at her with hope in her eyes. She wished Hayami would bring her mother back. She wanted Hayami to bring her mother back. Hayami saw Riya's expression and had the sudden urge to mess with her, something she never had. "If I do fix your mom, what will get in return?" Hayami asked her, trying to hide her playful smirk. Riya looked at her, in a full thought process and then she ran into her room. Hayami stood there confused about where she went, but she soon returned, holding a small stuffed toy in her hand. Hayami looked at her and Riya hesitated to speak but soon opened her mouth. "I can give you this," She said, stretching out her hand and handing Hayami the stuffed toy. Hayami took it from her hand and examined it.
The toy was not in the best condition but it was playable. Hayami just looked at it since she didn't have something like this ever in her childhood. "This...?" Hayami asked Riya. Riya nodded. "It's a teddy bear," Riya said. "I know that, I just didn't have something like this ever," Hayami said, looking at the teddy. Riya's eyes widened at that, something she did not expect a big girl to say. "I won this at the carnival on my birthday," Riya said. Hayami looked at her slightly shocked. "I can't have this, this is too special to you," Hayami said, returning it to her. Riya shook her head strictly. "You've never had a stuffed toy, that's all the more reason to give it to you," Riya said, pushing Hayami's hand back. "and" Riya started again. Hayami looked up from the toy to the kid. "You're fixing something special of mine, you need to get something special too," Riya said, flashing her a smile where she couldn't deny.
Hayami's eyes widened at the statement but soon she smiled as well. Hayami sat on her knees next to her mother and lifted her hand over her mothers face. Hayami closed her eyes and wiggled her fingers. Nothing could be seen to the people sitting by but Hayami seemed to be pulling something out of her. With some more concentration, a dark aura in black started coming out of the mother's body. Not stopping, Hayami continued to do her thing but the impact was too much for the body. Akio-san's eyes rolled back, mouth dangling open and her back arched, lifting like she was possessed. Riya could feel her heart racing. "Stop!!" Riya screamed, grabbing onto Hayami's wrist. Hayami's attention was broken and she immediately shot open her eyes. "Please...please stop," Riya said, tears brimming her eyes. Hayami's heart crushed at the view of the girl crying and she stopped immediately.
Riya held her mother's hand and looked at her, running her hand over her forehead in a caring way. Hayami sat back and looked at her. "It seemed like she was in pain," Riya said, not taking her eyes off of her mother. "The demon powder is less in quantity but there all over her body. The main component for the demon powder to work is blood. I'm pulling it out of her blood, so yes it would be slightly painful. But the relief she will receive later is uncomparable" Hayami said, trying to calm her down. Riya looked at her and then back at her mother. "Another way?" Riya asked, not wanting to cause pain to her mother. "I can do it slowly," Hayami said. Riya looked at her, hopeful eyes once again. "I can remove little day by day and even after I remove it completely, I'll help her around the house until she's completely alright" Hayami suggested. Riya flashed her smile again. "Are you going to be staying here?" Riya jumped up. Hayami looked at her, shocked by her reaction. "I can't, I'm sorry. But I will visit once in a while" Hayami said.
Riya was disappointed but her smile remained. Riya was admiring Hayami with her big googly eyes while Hayami was looking at her mother and coming up with a plan to save her. It won't be hard for her, but she could definitely save her. Hayami doesn't plan to lose this.
"Thank you for having me," Hayami said, bowing to the little girl while she walked out of the house. "Oh no, it's all good," Riya said, hopping around like the little kid she is. Hayami seemed to like the little one and she feels a sense of responsibility when she is around her. Hayami walked out the door and turned around towards the little girl. "So this was fun," Riya said, smiling widely. Hayami keeps getting shocked by her reactions and words but I guess, a surprise is what kids are made out of. Hayami just nodded and gave a small smile. Hayami walked out of their compound when Riya screamed again.
"I'LL BE WAITING FOR YOU, EVERY DAY!"
Hayami put on her hood, Riya's words ringing in her head. Hayami finally had someone who liked her and she was ecstatic. Hayami was also excited to see her as the day went on.
Hayami was back at Abyss and she entered the hall where everyone was present, her being the last one to enter. Everyone's eyes were on her, expecting results since she was liked by Mazi. Mazi looked at her proudly, expecting results as always. Hayami stood in front of him, her cold appearance in her face again. "So?" Mazi asked her. Hayami took in a breath.
"I didn't find her". Mazi was disappointed, to say the least. Hayami would never disappoint him. Mazi nodded, still being suspicious but he knew people could not always bring out results. Hayami bowed and turned towards her left, walking towards her designated room.
Hans came jogging right behind her and started walking with her. "You....didn't find her?" Hans asked her. "No" Hayami answered his question without turning her head. "Are you sure?" He asked her again. She remained quiet. "I saw you near the market, you were fighting some guys," He said his observation. "I was merely protecting a small kid, that doesn't mean I found our target" Hayami stated her reason. "Oh, Hayami being nice, isn't that ironic?" Hans teased her. "Ironic? yes. Impossible? No," She said, clearly not amused by the comment.
Hans stopped in his tracks and looked at her, walking away. "I'll get inside those brick walls of yours" He yelled to her. "All the best" She merely commented, turning another corner and disappearing.
Hans smirked to himself.
Who doesn't like a bit of competition?
