“Wake up, sleeping beauty.”
I open my eyes to see Riley standing a few inches from my bed looking down at me. I groan and pull the covers over my head. He chuckles at me and makes going back to sleep more difficult.
“What time is it?” I groan at him, not at all happy about being woken up.
“Ten.”
I pull my covers back down and glare at him. “Go away.”
“Come on. I want to hang out,” he tells me, tugging at my hand.
“Go hang out with Andrea. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind getting up for you,” I tell him, my voice sounding slightly too irritated.
“What?” he asks, smiling down at me because of my tone.
“She likes you, you know,” I tell him, making my tone more offhanded.
“Are you jealous?” he asks me in a teasing voice, his smile growing bigger.
I scoff at him. “No. I’m just passing the word that I was so graciously asked to pass.”
“Sure. Keep telling yourself that.”
I throw a pillow at his face but he catches it and winks at me. I can’t help it, I smile.
