Chapter 38

“Where were you leading me to?” I ask him. “This isn’t going to my class.”

“And you care about that now, do you?” he asks quirking a brow.

“I don’t really have a choice if I ever want to leave this place for good.”

He waves away my words and nods toward the door. “You up for some fun?” he asks with a sly smirk and mischief twinkling in his eyes.

I look up at him hesitantly but I know I shouldn’t. “Always. But you’re the furthest thing from it.”

“Ah, come on. Thought we were becoming fast friends here.”

I tilt my head and give him a dead look. He reaches behind him and pulls something from his back pocket. He takes a step toward me waving the folded-up assignment in my face. I look at it uninterested. He steps behind me and I can feel how close he is standing to my back. He leans down to my ears, his breath whispering across it. My body quakes with the effort to not shiver.

“We can get the paper done,” he whispers in a lulling voice.
