Chapter 58

“Want to know what you have to be thankful for?” he goads me, smirking.

“More like I want to know what misfortune brought you here to be a pain in my ass and torment me,” I say, smiling too sweetly.

“Not how you felt two hours ago, firecracker,” he gloats, his eyes holding dark promises and a devilish, hungry light.

“You attacked me!”

“You were eating it up. You were even expressing your love for my body. I wouldn’t have been able to tear you away from me if I had tried to.”

“You wish.”

“Don’t try to play coy. Like you don’t get all hot and bothered at just the thought of me.”

“I think you’re thinking of yourself. You’re the only one that keeps making moves. Or did you not notice that?”

“I noticed that you’re barely able to stand afterward,” he retorts, winking at me.

“I’m not having this conversation with you.”
