Natalie had always been a fairly happy girl with a life that she was content with. At least until six months ago when her lifelong best friend, with who she had shared everything with up until that point, suddenly decided that they needed to end their friendship with no warning. The life that she had known and loved shattered around her, taking her with it. I find a trail and begin following it, taking a deep breath when I can no longer hear any screaming kids or anyone talking about stupid bullshit that doesn’t actually matter. After a few minutes, I hear a trickling sound and I start trying to follow it. I end up having to leave the trail and walking through some foliage to try to find the water. 


The path suddenly becomes steep directly after I walk through the last bit of foliage without warning and sends me tumbling down the hill. The world begins to spin in front of my eyes, causing me to begin getting dizzy as my body seems to roll without end while I’m powerless to stop it. I throw my hand out and try to grab ahold of a root sticking up from the ground, but my fingers graze over it before I can attempt to get a grip on it.
