Chapter 63

The sound of his voice makes my panic and fear dissipate, allowing me to come back to my sense enough to be horrified with myself and what I had almost just done. Even though I’m all too aware that realistically I hadn’t come close to hurting him, considering it’s him and not just some regular guy.

“I heard you walking and thought everyone was in their tents since they’re all closed and I literally watched you go into yours when everyone else did,” I answer him breathlessly, still being held against his hard chest.

“You thought someone else would be out here?”

“I don’t know.”

“No one is here and no one is going to hurt you,” he says, his voice coming out low and hard as he releases his grip from my arm and turns me back to face him.

“What are you doing out here?” I ask him, trying to change the subject.

He looks around then looks back at me as if the answer should be obvious. “Not really a lot of things to do out here, Holloway.”
