“You okay, babe?” Riley asks me warily, searching my face for something.
“Yeah, why?” I respond, my voice coming out hoarse.
Riley glances at Ashford before looking back at me, his eyebrows knitting together slightly. “You said you were coming back to play.”
“Right, yeah. I’m sorry. Is it over?”
“No. I just decided to hunt you down and check on my girl,” he says, putting emphasis on my girl.
He must really not like Ashford and he usually never has a problem with anyone. Ashford’s lips tilt up into a cocky amused smirk, noticing the emphasis as well. Amy walks up to stand beside Riley and loops her arm around his, glancing at Ashford as if she’s hoping he’s watching her and will be bothered. Disappointment shines in her eyes when she doesn’t find what she’s looking for. I suppress a smirk of my own and look back at Riley. He looks down at her arm looped in his and looks at her curiously for a moment but doesn’t move away.
