“Put it on speakerphone or let me talk to him,” I demand, suppressing an amused smile at his annoyance and threat.
He answers the phone and puts it on speaker, allowing me to see he has me saved under the name firecracker before he snaps into it, “What?”
“Where is Natalie? You were supposed to be making sure she was taken care of?”
Connor’s eyes look me over from head to toe as I sit up on the table and I watch as a secret, mischievous smirk turns up his lips. “Oh, I have,” he replies with an obvious hidden meaning that I hope Riley doesn’t catch on to.
“She’s not at her house so I’d say you haven’t. Where is she?” Riley snaps, clearly frustrated.
“Obviously with me, dipshit. Why are you at her house?”
“I was making sure she got home okay and bringing her stuff to her.”
