Natalie had always been a fairly happy girl with a life that she was content with. At least until six months ago when her lifelong best friend, with who she had shared everything with up until that point, suddenly decided that they needed to end their friendship with no warning. The life that she had known and loved shattered around her, taking her with it. I‘m not even aware he left the wall until his warm, broad hands are holding either side of my face, and I slide my gaze up to find him stooped in front of me on his knees. “That's not what I’m saying at all-” 


“Either way,” I cut him off with a shake of my head. “You kept your end of the deal tonight. More than I anticipated. While I‘ve done a shit job of keeping mine in return, instead of accepting it and appreciating what you have given me. But I would like to rectify that and start now.” 


He blinks, shocked, then shakes his head- a crooked smile tugging on his mouth. “You never cease to amaze me and keep me on my toes. Every time I’m sure I know how you‘re going to respond or I‘m sure you can’t surprise me anymore, you prove me wrong and completely blow my mi-” 


When he stills and stops short, I frown at him, but stay silent when he puts a finger to his lips. I raise my eyebrows in silent question. He sighs, then whispers disgruntedly, “Colton is back.”
