Natalie had always been a fairly happy girl with a life that she was content with. At least until six months ago when her lifelong best friend, with who she had shared everything with up until that point, suddenly decided that they needed to end their friendship with no warning. When we’re outside and out of hearing distance from everyone, he looks at me with amazement and a raised eyebrow. “That was intense in there, man. I thought we were about to slaughter our way out when you lost it. I didn't think you'd ever be the type to lose your sanity over a girl.” 


I look to the sky, my body still coiled tight. “I didn’t either.” My voice is only a quiet mutter, but I know there‘s no denying what just happened in there. I lost it, and I see now it was always going to end that way.
