The Anger Within

3rd person POV

" Ok so before you learn how to fly you need to learn how to build up your energy from the bottom of your feet. So concentrate and feel your energy smoothly flowing down to your heels." Ethan explained.

"Wait when you say concentrate and feel your energy through your feet, you mean figuratively right?" Nadia asked. " No, I mean literally...I know you have always felt like you aren't like others its because you and I have stronger energy than humans, it's kind of the same way on how you can sense whether or not someone's energy is pure or not." Ethan explained patiently.

"Oh ok I'll try it," Nadia replied as she closed her eyes and concentrated as best as she could. After a couple of seconds, she could feel and see blue energy flowing through her body, she then tried to focus on moving her energy to her feet.

She stayed like this for almost 20 minutes before she started to feel her energy begin to weakly move down into her heels.

"I think I'm starting to get it." she thought to herself excitedly. And just like that, her concentration was broken from the sound of Ethan's door creaking slightly. "Aww man, I almost had it," Nadia stated as she opened her eyes to see Kai poking his head out of the door.

"Ugh... Kai buddy you know how long it took her to finally get to that point," Ethan stated slightly annoyed. "Oh...sorry but mommy was asking if you and Nadia wanted to eat dinner," Kai replied shyly. "Tell her I said thanks but no thanks we still have a long way to go plus Nadia's progress is moving at just about the same speed as a sloth," Ethan stated mockingly.

"What...well if it's SOO easy then why don't you...try...it" Nadia barely able to finish her sentence because her mouth was now wide open since Ethan was already floating with ease. " Oh,... you mean like this." Ethan taunted. Next thing Nadia knew Ethan was flying all across his room with confidence as if it was as easy as blinking. "Ok ok I get it your a professional flyer...how long did it take you to learn how to do that. A couple of days, weeks, or months?" Nadia asked with a curious tone.

"Hmm to be honest it only took me about an hour when I officially got the hang of it. Ethan stated as he recalled when he first flew at the age of 7. " H...How in the world did you figure this out on your own in an hour?" Nadia asked wondering if he really was telling the truth. "Not sure I just kind of saw someone on tv fly and I wanted to do the same thing so next thing I knew I was flying within an hour, things have always just come really easy to me even when it comes to my school work I barely have to try and I can get perfect grades," Ethan explained.

"It's true it's true, Ethan is sooo smart he even helps me with my homework when I get stuck on math. He's soo smart that he knows what ten plus fifteen is, and mommy and daddy say it's because he comes from a different planet, and that that's also why he can fly, and why he's super strong. My big brother is a real superhero," Kai explained with such pride for his older brother.

Nadia was now smiling at how adorable Kai was for thinking soo highly of Ethan. "I wouldn't go that far buddy I'm just lucky is all," Ethan stated as he started to lower himself back to the ground and mess up his little brother's brunette hair.

"That's more than just luck I think he has photographic memory if he was able to see that movie once before replicating the exact same thing within an hour." Nadia thought to herself before being brought back to reality by Ethan's talking. "Hello, are you listening to me?" Ethan asked.

"Huh...I'm sorry what did you say?" Nadia asked realizing she spaced out. "I asked if you wanted to bring dinner up here and eat," Ethan asked again with a slight impatience in his voice. "Oh I'm sorry... yes that sounds good," she replied before following Ethan and Kai downstairs to go get her food.

Nadia made her way downstairs to receive her meal. But as she picked up her food she noticed that Kai was already halfway through with his food, by the time Nadia had started to thank Isabelle for the food but before she could leave Isabelle asked, " So hows the flying training going, I hope Ethan hasn't been too hard on you."

" Oh it's been going good, and he's been a pretty good teacher all things considered," Nadia replied as Ethan stuck his tongue out slightly and winked at her. Nadia then proceeded to roll her eyes at him jokingly. Both of their attention was drawn back to Isabelle who dropped a plate on the floor where it proceeded to shatter. She then held onto her stomach as she began to grunt in pain.

"MOM!" Ethan yelled catching her before she could hit the ground. "Mommy!" Kai screamed out before tears started to appear on his cheeks. Nadia not knowing what else to do picked up Kai and hugged him trying to get him to calm down. "DAD HELP MOM COLLAPSED!" Ethan yelled out but got no response in return.

" Daddy...went...to...the...store." Kai stated in between his sobs. "DAMMIT WHAT DO I DO!" Ethan stated still holding his unconscious mom in his arms. "I can drive us to the hospital I finally got my license a couple of months ago before I turned 18," Nadia stated still trying to calm down kai. "Ok get the keys they're right there on the counter let's go," Ethan replied with worry in his voice.

Once they reached the hospital Nadia was still holding onto Kai who had fallen asleep crying while Ethan carried his mom into the hospital. When they took his mother into the ER Ethan called his dad to explain everything that happened. Nadia and Ethan were sitting down in the waiting area as they waited for news on Ethan's mom, with Kai sleeping on top of both of their laps.

While Ethan's dad was trying to get information on his wife Ethan decided to break the silence, " Thank you for driving us here and for taking care of Kai." He stated as he tried to calm his nerves. "It was nothing...but are you sure you're ok." Nadia asked but before Ethan could reply a nurse came out and asked, " Are you the family of Isabelle Monroe?"

"Yes, we are," Ethan stated as he carefully moved Kai's legs from off of his lap so he could stand up. " Yes, well we aren't sure what is happening all we know is that the baby is in great distress and if it continues we might have to deliver her early. "But she's only 5 months along!" Ethan's dad David explained with a worried expression. "We understand but if this continues it's our only option." The nurse explained.

" HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW WHAT HAPPENING TO MY MOM ARENT YOU GUYS DOCTORS FIGURE IT OUT." Ethan stated loudly and coldly as he proceeded to punch the wall causing his fist to go straight through it before he continued, "If anything happens to my mom I promise ill." "ETHAN CALM YOURSELF!" David yelled as he interrupted his oldest son.

Realizing that Ethan's fists were starting to slightly glow a shade of red Nadia put her jacket underneath Kai's head and rushed to Ethan before he exposed himself. "Hey it's going to be ok calm down," Nadia whispered to him as she had his fist in her hands as they slowly relaxed. The now shaking nurse had David follow her to see his wife, Nadia had to pull Ethan aside not too far but far enough to where they could still see Kai.

Nadia looked at Kai to make sure he was ok and then back at Ethan who had his arms behind his head as he paced back and forth through the hallway. Ethan if you don't calm down you won't be able to stop your powers from activating." Nadia whispered realizing that Ethan had stopped pacing and was now standing still with his arms by his side as he started to cry quietly.

Nadia looked at him and decided to do the same thing that he did for her when she felt vulnerable. She reached out to him and hugged him gently causing him to rest his head on her shoulder and let it all out at once. "It's ok I'm here I promise I'm not going anywhere." She whispered once more.

They had been there for almost 4 hours and it was starting to get late Kai was still sleeping on one side of Nadia while Ethan had fallen asleep on the other side of her. Nadia who was still awake she turned her head to the side and looked at Ethan with soft eyes. "Is it just me or was he always this handsome?" She thought to herself. " Excuse me, Nadia?" David asked her.

"Yes, Mr. Monroe," Nadia asked hoping he didn't notice her staring at his son. " Please call me David, anyway I'm going to take Kai home do you think you could stay here with Ethan. Knowing him he's not gonna want to leave here until he gets the chance to see his mom at least once."

Before Nadia could respond David continued, "It's just your the only one who really understands him since you know your both not from here, and in case he losses his temper you're the only one who can really calm him down...so please look after him." David pleaded as he carefully picked up Kai.

"Of course, no worries ill take good care of him," Nadia responded confidently. David then left with Kai in his arms, leaving Nadia alone with Ethan. "What am I getting myself into?" She asked herself before the nurse came explaining that Isabelle hasn't gotten any better but that people are allowed to visit. Nadia woke up Ethan gently telling him what just happened.

Ethan woke up automatically and followed the nurse along with Nadia. When they reached the room with Isabelle in it, the first thing Nadia noticed was how many wires were attached to Isabelle. After the Nurse left Ethan put his hand on his mom's arm and whispered to her, " Mom please wake up Kai needs you...I need you." Nadia feeling so useless instinctively put her hand on Isabelle's other arm and closed her eyes. After a couple of minutes Isabelle began to wake up, Ethan looked at Nadia realizing that it was Nadia who was doing this, that somehow she was healing his mom, he then proceeded to smile at her before running to get a nurse.

Ethan then called David to tell him the good news. Once the nurses removed all the unnecessary equipment Ethan walked over to Nadia and asked her, "How did you do that? Actually, how did you know you could do that?" "I'm not sure I just knew," Nadia replied. Ethan looked at the time and realized it was already 3:00 in the morning he then proceeded to freak out and said, "Oh shoot you have class tomorrow don't you." Actually, I go to online college so no worries I'm not missing anything." Nadia responded. " Oh ok good cause we might be here a while, but you can go home if you want," Ethan responded hoping she would choose to stay with him.

"Actually if you don't mind can I stay here, it's just at my apartment is soo quiet and lonely id much rather stay with you and your family at least until your mom is all healthy and able to leave here, plus your dad asked me to watch over you." She stated teasingly. Ethan now embarrassed covered his face with his hand annoyed as he thought," I can't believe he said that." "Oh, that reminds me I'm sorry we weren't able to get you to fly," Ethan stated apologetically.

"It's fine...we can try again when your mom gets better, just focus on her and your little sister for now." Nadia responded patiently as she continued, " Oh that reminds me what did they say about your little sister?" "Well, thanks to you she's no longer in distress so she won't have to be delivered anytime soon," Ethan explained with joy written all over his face. "Oh, and Thank you for healing them." Ethan thanked.

"It was my pleasure," Nadia stated smiling. But that smile quickly faded when she started to think to herself, "What if I don't beat Lilith, what will become of this family then."
