An Unexpected Encounter

Somewhere in London, a lawyer who had just joined his office quietly came out to see his wife and have some lunch. But when he got home he noticed that something was wrong, since the door to his house was open and apparently forced.

Something's wrong, Thomas thought. He quickly but stealthily entered the house, looking for his beloved wife, but all he discovered was that the house was completely empty and there was no sign of her.

Without wasting a single precious second, he took his phone and began searching through his contacts, until his gaze caught the glint of a sheet of paper on the kitchen counter.

"If you want to see your beloved one more time, come alone and without weapons to the cellars that are on the outskirts of the city"

He stared at the note for a few moments, wondering who would want to hurt his family more than he had already hurt them in the past. He was absorbed in thoughts of him when a noise from upstairs brought him back to reality.

<< Marié !? >> he thought with a little hope, and ran to verify that she was his wife.

But when he arrived, all he saw was a male silhouette getting dangerously close to him. he tried to run and couldn't, he fell to his knees to the ground and when he tried to turn around the man hit him.

They fought for a couple of minutes until Beckett managed to knock the man down the stairs. He got up and ran down to prevent the stranger from fleeing, but it was too late, the attacker got up with difficulty, he ran a few meters before Beckett grabbed him by the jacket he was wearing, they struggled a little more, as Beckett was injured he could not resist too much grip and released.

The lawyer fell to the ground again, saw how his attacker fled and looked down, only then could he notice a new paper lying under him, he took it with fear and read what was written.

“Kill the lawyer, I don't want any trace of him, and once you have him I want you to ditch the body and burn his damn house down.

-Mister. P"

His breathing quickened and he decided to go to the only place where he would get the help he needs, dispatch it from him.

When he arrived at the scene he saw an unusual black van parked in front of his law firm, he quickly got out of his car and entered, greeted by his receptionist, Miss Blair.

~ Oh, Lord came back early ~ he commented kindly.

~ Call the police now and get someone who knows the wineries out of town ~ he demanded.

~ I know those wineries like the back of my hand ~ mentioned a female voice behind him. ~ Even better.

Beckett turned around and found a beautiful woman wearing a beige Louis Vuitton coat, she had a straight and commanding posture.

~ I'm Margot Evans ~ the woman spoke. ~ I come to ask you for a job, since I investigated you, you are the most relevant lawyer of the moment, and it would be an honor to work with you.

~ Miss Evans, as you can see, I am in no condition to attend job interviews ~ Thomas spoke. ~ But if you help me with my business in the warehouses, you can be sure that you will have the job.

Margot smiled victoriously and looked at hers, men of hers, David and John looked at her.

~ Let's continue this talk in my office, okay? ~ Thomas said turning to Margot.

~ Sure ~ Margot replied with a small smile on her face.

They both went to the lawyer's office, calmly entered and once they were there Thomas closed the door quickly.

~ I don't have much time to explain, but my wife was kidnapped ~ he said. ~ And I need someone who knows those wineries, to plan an ambush.

~ An ambush? ~ She repeated doubtfully.

~ That's it! I'll be able to get my wife back and also catch that band of thieves ~ Thomas exclaimed. ~ So ... will you help me, Miss Evans?

~ Oh, but of course I'll help you ~ Margot said with a slight smile. ~ And ... do you know anything about those people? ~ She asked curiously.

~ Not much actually, I just know that we are looking for a man known as "Mr. P", do you know anything about him? ~ He asked looking directly into her eyes.

~ Mr. P? ~ He was briefly silent ~ The truth is not very familiar to me.

<< So Mr. P eh? How curious, I wonder what does that guy want? >> Mía thought, a little intrigued.

A silence was present in the room, until Thomas spoke.

~ Are you okay, Miss Evans? I see her a bit "pensive" ~ Mr. Beckett exclaimed with a doubtful expression on his face.

~ Yes, yes! ... it's nothing important, don't worry ~ Margot exclaimed, returning a slight smile.

~ Okay ~ Thomas replied raising his eyebrow a little.

At that moment, Mr. Thomas's secretary, who was carrying a newspaper with her, interrupted the room.

~ Sir, you better know this ~ exclaimed the secretary.

~ What's up Miss Blair? ~ Mr. Beckett asked.

At that moment he pointed to a specific note:

“Two men were found burned on the outskirts of the city, the causes are unknown and the whereabouts of the person responsible are unknown, a note was found in the place that said the following: “Your lackeys do nothing but exclaim pity and you are the next fall ". Law enforcement officers report that this attack could be a criminal work known as "El Pifas Britanico" aka "Mr. P".

As soon as Beckett finished reading the note, a message arrived on his cell phone.

"Your time is running out Thom, tick, tack"

And below the photo of the gagged woman of him.

~ Let's go to those warehouses as soon as possible ~ he demanded. ~ Please, Miss Evans, if it is true that she knows you as well as she says she does, help me save the only part of my life that I still have left.

Margot didn't understand that comment, yet she saw the desperation in the man's gaze and she couldn't help but convince a part of her conscience.

~ So what are we waiting for, Mr. Beckett? Come on, we have a woman to rescue.

They all walked out of the office straight for their cars. As always, David and John followed closely behind her, got into the truck, with John at the wheel of it, and drove off.

~ I'm sure that message was for me ~ Mía commented annoyed. It was no longer necessary to save identity. ~ But… who were those men?

~ Miss Mia, apparently those men on the news were ours, they are the ones who ordered the warehouses emptied at the meeting in France ~ John mentioned.

Mia had been looking at her cell phone, trying to communicate with one of the men in the warehouse, until she heard those words.

~ Are you screwing with me? ~ she exclaimed indignantly. ~ I want you to speed up, if those men are dead it means that idiot "Mr. P" has my domains, and I can't allow that.

John followed his boss's orders and sped up. They reached the warehouses as fast as he could, with no sign of Beckett yet.

~ Great, it hasn't arrived yet, we can move on and… ~ David drew his gun, but Mia stopped him.

~ What is the first rule?

~ Huh?

~ What's the damn rule, David? She ~ she She repeated and David understood the question.

~ Think with a cool head ~ he put the gun away and stood still.

~ Listen to me well, David, you will stay to see Beckett, John, you come with me, I want to see if there is someone who can solve the fucking mystery of "Mr. P" ~ They both nodded and Mia took a gun from the back of the truck .

Unlike her henchmen, she liked to stand out among all her workers, for which she had exclusive things, and the weapon was no exception to her. She had a gold-colored gun in her hand, with some reddish hues that matched the color of her lipstick.

Despite having her own weapon, she had rarely used it. She hated spilling other people's blood. She walked directly to the entrance of that basement and a wave of memories flooded her memory.

As she walked, the heartrending cries of thousands of girls were reborn in her memory, she closed her eyes tightly trying to remove the pain that she reminded of all those girls exploited by her father.

Until she came to a memory that opened thousands of doubts.

"Thousands of young people were bound and gagged in the hidden basement of those basements.

Mia was next to her father, with only 8 years she was in that hell.

Her father counted the "goods," as he called them. He looked at some of them with satisfaction and counted the money in his hands.

~ Dad, I want to go home ~ the little girl mentioned, scared, she didn't like that vision.

~ Ah, Mia ~ the man sighed angrily. ~ I want you to look at this place, these girls are here for the same thing they did to you. If it weren't for me, you'd be working on ... I don't know where.

They left there and then only the pleas of several girls were heard asking not to be hurt.”

~ Everything okay, miss? ~ John spoke, calming the tide his mind had become.

~ I can't be here, sorry ~ Mia ran out of the basements the best she could. She was sorry she couldn't save those girls, but she was working on it.

On the other hand, David was outside, watching, when he saw his boss leave the warehouse and pass out.

He ran to her and hugged her. He took her to the car and put her to bed. Realizing that his partner was alone, he left his boss in the car and ran into the basements, he was willing to help him.

He looked everywhere, until he saw it. She ran to him in silence. and they kept walking until they heard the faint sounds of a gagged woman, and there was Marié, with a man behind her pointing at her head.

~ We are two against one, let her go and we will all be fine ~ said John.

~ Two against one? look well ~ the other man commented and two more men came out behind John and David, immobilizing them.

The atmosphere tensed when a bullet struck the man behind Marié, killing him instantly.

They all turned, finding Mia wielding her signature weapon.

~ How many men does it take to send a message, eh David? ~ She asked jokingly.

~ One ~ David replied, and taking advantage of the distraction he subdued his attacker and Mia fired at the other, who had John trapped.

Once the mens had died, David and John they went to help the woman, Mia felt a severe headache and fainted.

David ran to her and took her in his arms.

~ Is it okay? ~ asked he.

~ Just take me to the car ~ Mia demanded and so it was.

Moments later Beckett arrived. He walked over to Mia and looked at her.

~ Did they hurt her? ~ asked.

~ It's just a medical problem, nothing to worry about, his wife is with my partner~ David saying.

John came out, with Marié in his arms, he was fine, but unconscious. When David saw him he knew it was the signal to go, so he got into the car ready to drive.

~ There are no signs of the men, but I suggest you hire security, this could only be a warning ~ John commented to Thomas as he handed over his wife.

Without further ado, Beckett nodded and went to take his beloved to the hospital, while John and David took Mia home.

At night on the way back down the road, everyone was silent, no one dared to say anything, but Mia was locked in her thoughts.

<< Why? ... What was that feeling? something like this had never happened before, those wineries ... I don't understand what happened to me, if I have never been to England before, but that feeling ... no, that memory ... I wonder what would have happened in that place ... >>

At that precise moment, John tuned into a very particular news item on the radio.

"It was reported that there was an explosion on the outskirts of the city, apparently an explosive charge was placed in some warehouses, it is believed that the warehouses were used by the mafia to protect their merchandise so law enforcement officials say we could be at the beginning a war between mafias, no more details are known at the moment but keep tuning in to keep informed".

At that moment Mía came his senses and look at John and David who were already looking at her, then they all nod their heads and Mía only limits herself to saying.

~ Gentlemen, I hope you are prepared for what is coming.

~ What's coming up? ~ John and David asked seriously and intrigued.

~ The war, gentlemen, that's what is coming ~ Mia exclaimed with a small smile on her face.
