CHAPTER 11

Groaning in frustration, Joshua pulled himself to his feet and looked at the dead man before him. He had him, he was moments away from getting his answer but no, one small mistake had cost him and he was back to square one. A gunshot then sounded making him remember what he had left behind. He then ran back to the ship and upon arriving the ship had been driven back to the shore and the door flung open revealing a number of young women flocking out one after the other. He walked over to help them out of the ship and that was when it dawned on him that they were the cargo, Kenneth was trafficking them away

"Come on let me help you." he said to one who seemed hesitant to take his hand, "Its okay i wont harm you, you are safe now." the girl stretched out her shaky hand and Joshua helped her out. It took him a while to get the girls out of the ship before the real hero appeared and like him the person's face was half covered

"You must be A.S.1. It was nice working with you." he said getting out of the ship and turning to leave

"And what about them?" asked Joshua referring to the girls

"The police are on their way. You better disappear lest they find you here." with that he paced away, disappearing into the dark. Joshua lingered around unsure if he should leave them alone but the police siren had him running off, at least safety was about to embrace them.

"Vice President Kenneth Khetha was found shot to death last night following a brutal shootout by the sea shore. The police are still looking more into the matter but a footage from the minister of finance was sent to the police as proof that the late vice president had attempted to human traffic a large number of girls. More of this coming after the break." Richard switched off the television following Timothy's entrance into his house. He felt relieved and on top of the world, at last his dream was about to come to pass and before the eyes of every national, he had saved the day and become the hero

"Turned out the way i wanted. I am glad." he said offering him a seat, "The vice presidency seat is now empty, its time i seize what i deserve."

"Congratulations boss, you did well."

"Thank you Tim, we should drink to this." he said pacing into the kitchen and later emerging with a glass of wine and spotlessly clean glasses

"So once you become Vice President what happens?" he asked Richard who gulped the wine before responding

"We will cross the bridge once we get there Tim. One step at a time." Helen walked in on the two men and upon seeing Timothy she turned to rush to her room

"Are you not congratulating your father?" said Richard making her freeze on the spot. Her feet felt heavy and it took her forever to turn and look at the two men

"Well i saw the news. You did great father congratulations." she faked a smile and immediately walked away, Timothy's stare accompanying her till she disapeared into her room

"She is up to something. She has been acting weird lately." Richard said pouring more wine into nervous Timothy's glass.

Upon waking up late afternoon Joshua felt tired still. The events of the previous night replayed in his head and frustration kicked in once more. He had lost his last hope and he was back to square one of his investigation. As more thoughts reeled in, his door flew open revealing a surprise Raymond

"You must be kidding me. Still in bed at this hour?!"

"Ray not now please. I am tired."

"You partied all night again? Dude you are getting married in a few days!"

"Whoa whoa whoa hold it right there." he said quickly getting up, "You and i had an agreement. She will be my wife to the world but yours in reality meaning that i can do whatever i want whenever okay?I will still be a single man."

"But really man thanks for doing this. You have no idea what it means to me."

"What do you want?"

"Do you have to be so rough? I am saying thank you." Joshua dished out a stare which had Raymond saying the truth

"We have to go prepare the wedding necessities. I have decided it will be a simple court wedding extremely private. I will talk to Julia she will understand."

"Whatever." said Joshua dragging himself into the bathroom. A part of him was beginning to regret agreeing to be part of the plot but him and Ray had come a long way and would do anything for each other.

Julia felt frustrated sitting inside the bus while it was getting fixed. She could hear several voices mumbling complaints about the bus breaking down and already a lot of time had passed with the driver and several male passengers trying to figure out what was wrong. It had been almost three hours since the bus took off from town but the journey home had decided to be a rocky one

"What time is it?" she asked the lady sitting next to her

"Quarter past five. Its been exactly three hours." Julia sighed in annoyance her patience running thin. Even her phone battery had decided to betray her leaving her miserable

"Cant they just call in for another bus?" she said to the lady who scoffed

"As if they care. Even if it takes the whole night there is no way they are calling in another bus. That's how much they love our money." Julia was left splattering unheard curses. She was supposed to be home three hours back but there she was stuck in a bus feeling rather useless

"May i use your phone real quick?I would like to make a call my battery is flat."

"Mine has gone flat too. I'm sorry."

The passengers sat inside until about thirty minutes later when the bus finally got fixed and ready to go. It wasn't long before Julia got off by her bus stop and paced her way home, her stick leading the way. The road was awfully quiet and it was already dark outside, the weather turning chilly too. She stopped to take out her jacket and it was then that she felt a wierd aura overshadowing her. Choosing to ignore the feeling she wore her jacket and pace home, counting her steps which what always saved her from entering the wrong house but as she approached home, a firm hand covered her mouth pressing her body against his. She struggled to free herself until his voice took her down memory lane:

"I believe we have unfinished business. We do don't we...?"
