"Really?" I ask even though I know Mom isn't kidding. I haven't seen Nana and Papa in years and mom and dad rarely have time to bring me to their house. They live about 40 miles away from our house, at least a hour and a half drive from here.
"Of course dear. You haven't seen them in at least 2 years and my mother constantly makes me aware of how she feels about that." Mom answers and I laugh. Nana has her own way of making mom feel her wrath from keeping me away from her and grandpa.
"Well, I guess I'll go pack now that I know. Spence, are you coming?" I ask my bestfriend who is now seated at the counter on her phone. She gets up from her seat and follows me upstairs in the elevator without a word. Before we left, Maura and my mom told us they would start breakfast so by time we came back down we could eat and leave as soon as possible.
