Chapter 22

„It's been enough hours, you should go to bed," she said boldly, and I laid the towel on the table.

Halfway down, I stopped and turned to face her.

„And you?"

„I still have some work to do, I'll have it done in a moment," she smiled at me.

It was very dark in the hallway, only a small light bulb shining at the end of the hall, casting mysterious shadows on the walls.

Get up! I scolded myself.

I paused for a moment, overwhelmed by a very familiar feeling that I attributed to the light that frightens me. The feeling did not leave me and dominated my body even more. I turned slowly behind me, but I saw nothing to threaten me.

I breathed a sigh of relief and tried to cover up the fear, which grew more and more.

Someone is here, someone is watching me and seeing my every move. I know it, I feel it.

I didn't notice it any further and moved forward again as I had planned.

„Hmm, I didn't know we had a cat like that here," I heard a hitherto unknown voice just behind me.
