Chen Yu knocked on the door, I gesture for her to enter.
"Your Highness I have found what you were searching for"
She showed the bottle filled with the Exstract of the Bleeding Heart, a poisonous flower than can ravage the insides of an unlucky victim, being able to cause heart attacks, internet bleeding, brain damage, rotting limbs among many other things. Truly an item that in the wrong hands can cause much tragedy. As I pondered while holding the bottle in my hands a thought flashed into my mind. Why would I ever waste this on Xian Ling and Fan Xhu? What do I gain if I succesfully poison my sister? Why do I even want to persue Fan Xhu? I am wedded to him, but he doesn't seem to regard me in any positive light. Maybe he just doesn't want to enrage Father Shun. I look back on all the things I liked about him, his gentle voice, his stern but fair decisiveness, his caring for the people he loved. But as of now, I only get depressed when trying to compare my image of him to my recent memories. Those aforementioned things are now only left for my sister.
"Say, Chen Yu."
Once she heard her name she stood upright, immediately directing all her attention to me.
"Would you like to go somewhere? Somewhere better?"
She titled her head a bit, and said "I will go wherever the missus wants to go. But aren't you planning to finally take Fan Xhu back from that wench?" she grimaced.
"I suppose I was. Though whatever I dish out will always come back tenfold. Such is karma."
I gave off a self depricating chuckle, before returning back to the original topic.
"Well, then, have you any interest in cultivation?" She was about to speak but was interrupted just a bit. "And I'm asking about your personal opinion, not as a servant but as a person... I have started longing for power after being utterly crushed at every instance. I wish to pay back the blows to my honor a thousandfold, make them feel the humiliation I'm facing every day."
She pondered, many times opening her mouth and shutting it, before finally coming to a conclusion, nodding her head to herself before finally speaking.
"The path of cultivation is arduous. I have heard many a tale of people seeking the same power you wish to desire, and having nothing left at the end. I've hear many go down the wrong path. That being said I do believe missus will be able to achieve her goals. As for myself, a lowly servant like me has no need for such power, though I do have a deep curiosity for the art, and wish if possible to join you."
A beaming smile set on my face, it was truly the answer I hoped for.
"How about poetry then, or western culture, or maybe-"
I started rattling off all the things I've wished to experience, Chen Yu sometimes chiming in with other suggestion while nodding and also showing an interest.
Life will be so fun. However, there will many many roadblocks, and the first is to resolve the situation I am in now. If I don't have permission to leave, I won't be able to go out. I can only et permission from the one who despises me the most. But be at ease! I have already a plan ready for that.
"Plan 1: Innocuous Concealment start!"
My servant excitedly awaited our next steps.
