Chapter 4 - The Cheese and the Mouse

Christina POV

I woke up around 7.30am from the sound of my alarm. I stretched my body before standing up and walk into the bathroom to have a shower and refresh myself. I walked out from the bathroom and towards my closet. "What should I wear for today? Maybe this short flower dress" I asked myself by looking at the tall mirror beside the closet. I then changed into the dress. "Gorgeous" I smiled and looking at myself at the mirror. I took my phone and purse then put it inside my handbag then walked down to the kitchen. I opened the top drawer and take out a box of cereal then pour into the cereal mug. I took a bottle of milk out from the fridge then pour into the cereal mug and start to eat my breakfast while checking on my social media and news. It seems nothing much happened and not much comment on my social media since I don't usually post anything in it except for some photo shoots I took last two weeks and some photos of food, places and friends. Since I have been bound at home, I didn't have much stuff to post. "Hope to have some nice photo today so I can post in my Twitter and Instagram" I smiled while thinking of having the privileged to take part in a photo shoot for the well-known Calvin Klien fashion house.

*ding dong*

I put down my cereal mug then walked over to the door and peeped on the peephole. Is it Abby. I slowly unlocked my door then opened up to let Abby in.

Abby:"Good Morning boss. How's your sleep last night? Did you dream of Ms. Bishop?" she asked and winked at me while passing me my favorite coffee. I rolled my eyes at her.

Christina:"Well, morning to you and why would I dream of such person? It will definitely be a nightmare but I am having a good sleep since I am going for a photo shoot at Calvin Klien HQ later" I squeal excitedly. Then I walked back to the kitchen, washed the cereal mug then I put it back on the counter. I wiped my hand on the kitchen towel then picked up my handbag and walk towards the Abby. "Lets go my dear as we don't want to be late for my first time photo shoot for Calvin Klien right?" I grabbed Abby's hand and walked out of my condo. Before that, I make sure to arm the alarm system then locked the door properly. I walked towards the elevator hall waiting for an elevator with my hand holding on Abby's arm. She then pressed for the lobby once we are inside the elevator. When the elevator reached the lobby, both of us walked out and towards the Main Entrance of the condo and into the car where Sophia an Mark was inside waiting patiently for us.

Sophia:"Good morning Christina. Hows your sleep? So are you ready for the photo shoot?" she asked smiling at me.

Christina:"Definitely" I answer excitedly.

**skipped the drive**

The car stops in-front of a tall building with lots of Calvin Klien advertisement and billboards hanging around. I smiled and walked out of the car. Abby hold on my arm and we both walked towards the building while Mark walked behind me and Sophia leading the way. Mark then opened the entrance door for us and we walked in. Sophia then walked over to the reception counter.

Sophia:"Hi. My name is Sophia and we are here to meet up with Ms. Jennifer for a photo shoot" she informed the receptionist.

Receptionist:"Oh Hi! and yes Ms. Jennifer have informed me and please take the elevator to level 20. She is there to meet you all. You need this access card to go up to that level. Just tap on the small screen below the buttons once you enter the elevator then press level 20" she smiled and informed us.

Four of us then walked towards the elevator and enter. Sophia then tapped the access card on the screen and press level 20. It brings us up to level 20 within 5 minutes. Once the elevator door opened, we all walked out and noticed a lady at the reception counter. Sophia then walked over to her. "Hi! We are looking for Ms. Jennifer as we are here for a photo shoot" she said. "Yes, Ms. Jennifer is waiting for you all. Please follow me" she said and asked us to follow her to a hall. There is a tall blonde lady standing not far away with her back is facing us talking to a cameraman. The receptionist then walked towards her.

Receptionist:"Ms. Jennifer, the guest is here" she informed the lady then she turned around facing us.

Blonde lady:"Hi and good morning! I am Jennifer and nice to meet you and welcome to Calvin Klien HQ. Sorry for the last minute arrangement and hope it didn't crash with your acting schedule. So, what do you think of this place?" she asked looking at Sophia and me.

Sophia:"Hi and nice meeting you Jennifer. Is not a problem on the arrangement and this place looks wonderful with those designs.

Christina:"Hi and nice meeting you too, Jennifer. I am very happy for the opportunity you give me and I feel is such and honor an having such privilege in appearing in one of Calvin Klien's magazine." I said.

Jennifer:"Great. How about you follow me to the changing room so I can get my staff to pass you some cloths we needs you to wear for the photo shoot?" she asked then gestured me to follow her. "Cecelia, this is Ms. Christina Wolfe. Please get her some of our latest design as she will be wearing for the photo shoot" she said and gestured me to walk over and followed Cecelia.

Cecelia:"Hi! This will be some of the clothing you need to wear and change to during this photo shoot. I will show you which to wear first until the whole set finish" she said then passed me the first set of cloth to change. "You can change inside this changing room" she said and showed me the changing room.

Christina:"Thanks" I said and walked into the changing room to change on the first set of cloths which is a pair of sports bra and underwear.

After changing, I walked out then Cecelia gestured me to walk towards the long chair in-front of the cameraman.

**skipped the photo shoot process**

Jennifer:"Great job Christina. Don't lied to me that this is your first time taking photo shots of fashion and clothing wear because from what I notice, you look natural and relax during the whole process" she said with full appreciation on her face.

Christina:"No..no it is really my first time for taking photo shoot of such clothing line. Thanks for the opportunity, Ms. Jennifer" I said while thanking her.

Cameraman:"Well ladies, good job there. By the way Jennifer, I will review through these photos then pass to you in a few days so you can choose which to publish out" said the cameraman.

Jennifer:"Sure Paul. Thanks for coming in with such a short notice" she thanked the cameraman. "So, you guys have any free time for tea break?" she asked Sophia.

Sophia:"Sure. We love to have coffee and some cakes as well since I didn't eat much this morning due to rushing out to avoid traffic" she said and following Jennifer and walked over to the elevator where we all followed behind her.

**time skipped to the cafe 5 minutes later**

Jennifer:"So, do you ever think of being a model yourself besides a full time actress?" she asked while sipping on her coffee looking at me.

Christina:"Well, to me acting is my dream job but it all depends how good if the movie or drama you involve in; whether they have good co actor and actress and the story line is interesting. Not to say I am choosy but I accept the job totally base on the writer of the scripts because I do know a few of them whom have wonderful ideas and creativity which we as actors and actresses can explore while working together during filming. I don't mind if to co act with new actor or actress as long as they are committed to their work. Most of those famous script writers have their own attitude and character BUT if you get used to them and understand him/her, is really a good experienced to work with them.

Not many of the directors can work with such people and tolerate their weird attitude but there are still plenty of directors whom are very good business partner with a few. As for modeling, it is something new for me and I don't mind to explore into this field if I am given the opportunity. Of cause Sophia will need to work harder in arranging and accepting jobs for me as movie / drama filming requires more time and I know most of the famous model and fashion clothing company like you guys have your own schedule as well. I am sure it will be a challenging job for me in order to cater my full time to both acting and modeling" I looked at Sophia and laughed while she just smiled at me and nodded.

Jennifer:"Well, I think I can see how we go from here once the photos are published out and I am sure this will not be the last time you and I meet as I like the way how you post and face the camera; seems like you have your own individual aura which capture the scene and the cameraman during the photo shoot" she winked and smiled at me.

Christina:"Thank you in advance and is nice working with you and your team" I smiled and thanked her.

Jennifer signaled the waiter over for the bill. She insist in paying so Sophia just let her pay and told her that she will be treating the next time we meet again.

Jennifer:"I have to go now as I got another photo shoot from another model arriving soon. Nice meeting you guys and have a nice day. Any news, my assistant will contact Sophia" she said and smirked looking at me then walked out of the cafe.

Abby:"Wow! I think someone is hitting on you, boss" she giggled.

Christina:"Well, I do admit that she is pretty and hot but she is not my type" I replied while rolled my eyes at Abby.

Abby:"Who is your type then? Ms. Bishop?" she smirked at me.

I nearby spit out my coffee after hearing what Abby just said then wipe my mouth using the cafe's napkin and shoot her a "Don't simply say a word" look at her. Both Sophia and Abby chuckled while Mark tries stopping himself from laughing by looking at his phone.

*buzz buzz*

Before looking at the caller ID, I swipe and answered the phone. "H-how dare you treat me l-like t-that?! Do y-you know t-that I was waiting for you at the same place s-so that I can l-look at how sexy a-are you and imagine to t-touch and h-hold you while k-kissing you pink plum lips. W-what you did is unacceptable and I am not g-going to quit and leave until I see you, m-my love... I am going to f-find you and...." the person hissed and shouted on throughout the whole tele-conversation. I was shocked and scare then ended the call before he finished talking. Everyone looked at me shocked and asked me who is that on the phone. I told both Sophia and Abby then they hugged me tightly while I started to cry and feeling frightened.

Sophia:"I think we should go to the police station and look for Inspector Bishop and tell her what you heard just now so they can do something to it. I don't want you to get hurt or petrified" she said while holding me up with Abby and we walked out of the cafe towards the car. Mark went into the car and starts the engine then immediately drove to the police station once we entered the car.

I am still holding on Abby's hand and wiping my tears off my face thinking back the voice of the caller, how angry he/she was.

**skipped the drive**

Jonathan POV

Jonathan:"I can't even see clearly now. What I see now is alphabets and numbers everywhere I look at including your face" I complaint at Jeremy while munching my chips.

Jeremy:"Same goes to me. Why after we filter out so many names and numbers but still can't really pin down anything? Are we looking at the correct directions? Should we check with Ash again and ask her what is she thinking now?" he asking while trying to steal some chips from me but I smacked his hand away. "Sharing is caring bro" he said while still aiming on my chips.

Jonathan:"Well, she is at somewhere trying to figure out something and is best not to bother her; you know what kind of person she is IF you try to mess with a thinking Ash, right?" I reminded Jeremy

*knock knock*

I heard someone walked into the office and some familiar sound. Act of curiosity, I stood up and walked toward the front desk where Jenny is. Then I saw two familiar figure standing there. I slowly walked over.

Jenny:"Yes and how may I help you?" she asked.

Abby:"Can we look for Inspector Bishop? Is URGENT in the matter of life and death" she mentioned to the receptionist while rushing into the office with Christina standing behind her.

Jenny:"Do you have any appointment with Inspector Bishop because she is kind of busy right now?" she asked.

Jonathan:"Hi! Is still haven't end of the week yet and you guys can't wait eagerly to request for changed of team to handle your case?" I smirked at Abby while she rolled her eyes.

Abby:" No. This is not what it means but where is Ash, we need to talk to her as at NOW" she said loudly and trying to argue with me.

Christina:"Abby, I need to go to the washroom to clean my face" she asked then Abby nodded and she walks out the office towards the washroom after asking the receptionist the direction.

Ash POV

After relaxing my brain and refreshed my mind by seating under a big oak tree just opposite the armory, I slowly walked up the stairs back to my office to continue with the checking and filtering. "Did I miss something? We need some new info in order to narrow down the location or the radius because based on few weeks old data, we really can't pin down where and who or a suspect list" I talked to myself while looking at the ground walking towards the office. Suddenly I bumped into someone and nearly causing that person to fell on the ground by due to fast reaction, I manage to catch and hold on her arm. When I look up, I see my emerald blue eye angel directly in-front of me. I noticed her eyes are red and puffy then some tear stains on her cheek. She then pulled away from me and walked away towards the washroom. My heart doesn't feel good so I followed her to the ladies washroom. Once she is inside, she turned on the water tab and splashed water onto her face then when I walked in, she stop her action and walked over to the tissue holder and took it to wipe away waters in her face.

"You Okay?" I asked her in a concerned tone. "I am okay and I don't need you to concern about me. Use the balance of your time and figure out who is the culprit whom is bothering me" she said angrily then rushed out from the washroom. I was surprised on her reaction and was snapped back to reality after 2 minutes. I immediately rushed out from the washroom to go after her but she is nowhere to be seen. I slowly walked further down the hall and heard someone snuffling inside a room. I opened the door and walked in. At the back corner of the room, I saw my angel seating on the floor hugging her legs and crying. I slowly walked over to her then when she noticed me, she tried to run away. I grabbed her arm, pulled her over and hugged her tightly. She tried to hit me multiple times on my chest and slapped me on my face trying to break loose to get away from my hugged but failed. When she knew she can't run away, she starts to hug me back and continue crying there.

Ash:"Shhhh...Is okay, you are safe now. No one is going to hurt you while I am here. I will not let anyone touch or hurt you love" I told her while hugging her tighter not letting her go away. After 5 minutes, she started to calm down then I slowly pull away a little bit and look at her in her eyes. "You are still as gorgeous as usual" I blurred out. Then I see she giggled. "I say out loud again, didn't I?" I asked and look embarrassed.

Christina:"Yes you did Inspector. Can you let go of me now?" she asked shyly then touched my cheek where she just slapped me. "Sorry" she whispered.

Ash:"Ops! Really sorry for that and I hope I didn't hurt you and I am okay, the sting is still bearable" I said while rubbing the back of my neck shyly after letting her go.

Christina:"You look kind of cute when you are shy" she chuckled then my face starts to heat up.

Ash:"No I don't. I look hot!" I exclaimed. "Why are you here?" I asked her while walking out from the room and towards the office. "Are you really going to complaint to the Chief and request to change for another team to handle your case? I thought I still got two more days before dateline to give you an update?" I shook my head then opened the door and go into the office.

Abby and Jonathan:"There you are" they said in unison.

Abby:"Where have you been? We have been looking for you in the washroom but you are not there. You okay?" she asked with a concerned look.

Christina:"I am okay and thanks to Inspector Bishop" she looked at me and smiled. The smiled which I love to see and will not be tired of it until I am six feet under.

Sophia walked into the office together with Mark. Both of them looked concerned.

Ash:"So, what is the purposed you guys come here today?" I asked while gesturing them to follow me into a meeting room. "Please take a seat".

Sophia:"Christina received another call from the unknown person threatening her" she said and I looked at Christina with a sad face looking at me.

Ash:"Jonathan, can you get the IT team to track and traced down the voice called and see where is the signal broadcast out? Ask them to raise the frequency so they can isolate the caller sound and background noise" I said and Jonathan immediately goes out to look for the IT Team. "You guys don't need to worry. Can I know what did caller tells you on the phone throughout the conversation?" I asked looking at Christina.

She slowly tells me what the caller said to her. During the moment when she tried to think back what the caller said, her eyes become watery and I can see feared and how sad she is through her eyes and this caused me to feel pain in my heart; like someone just stabbed it with a knife.

Ash:"Ok, I guess we need to make a move and plan something to lure this person out from their comfort zone in order to make a catch but this might be dangerous to any of you as IF the plan failed, he/she might target Sophia and Abby. I know is too much for me to request BUT in order for us trying to hunt this person down by cracking their nest one by one, why not lure the beast out with a plan to catch it? I give you guys think about this BUT I can assured you that we will try our best to protect the three of you and I myself will make sure none of you especially you; Christina Wolfe will be harmed during this operation under my command. I will take full responsibility IF anything happened to three of you BUT I need Mark's help in order to make part of my plan worked" I informed and I walked out of the room with Mark behind me.

"Can I trust you?" I asked. "101% as I treat her like my own sister although sometimes her attitude annoys me and I trust you as well because I can see the way you look at her" he said n smirked at me. "Okay, lets meet up tomorrow. I will text you the location. This is my number and please don't name it under my name; put it something else as emergency contact when anything happen where no one knows is me. Okay?" I asked and he nodded then we exchanged number. He then walked back into the room while I walked in after him. "I guess is late now and you ladies should go home and have a good rest. Sophia, is is possible to send me a copy of Christina's schedule so we are aware of her whereabouts. My email is behind my name card and please act normal as we don't want to wake up the hidden rat and cause more problems" all of them nodded.

Sophia:"I will send you the schedule once I am back home and thanks for your help" she smiled and walked out of the room following by Abby.

Christina:"Thank you for everything" she said while looking at me.

Ash:"You are welcome, love. Is my job by the way to protect every citizen especially you. Good night and safe journey home" I said and smirked at her. She blushed hearing me calling her the pet name.

I watched closely and make sure all of them have safely entered the car and drove out from the station car park. Jonathan walked over to me then pat me on my shoulder.

Jonathan:"So, what's the plan now?" he asked and I gestured him to get Jeremy and followed me into the meeting together with Jeremy.

Ash:"I call this plan 'Cheese and the Mouse'" I said then starts to lay the plan out. "I get to know that there is this Carnival going to be held at Nothing Hill coming two days. As this will be an annual event, many people will be attending as there will be performances and parades going on. I know there is a big risk and I am sure there will be police officer on duty that time BUT I think this is the best chance to lure the mouse with the cheese and catch it. We will not be joining forces with these officers nor get involve in their security protection planning. We will be attending this even as normal citizen. So we can't be seen with them and in a big group and since no one know we are, is much easier to act" I said while drawing out my plan on the whiteboard.

Jonathan:"Are you sure about this? I am sure the Chief will not allow us to go ahead with this plan because is to huge risk" he commented.

Ash:"Not to worry about the Chief as I will talk to him tomorrow morning. I am planning to get Sophia to talk to Christina's publicist and arrange a small meet and greet for the fans on that day at a smaller area, I am thinking about the Nothing Hill Community Hall maybe from 1pm - 2pm. They will mention in the post that this event is to promote her upcoming movie together with other co-workers. By this, we can arrange and plan out putting some of our people surrounding the hall as well as every exit and entrance towards this hall from the main area of the parade. I am sure this person will definitely be there in close up since he/she is so desperate in getting her. Meanwhile, is it possible to get me the blueprint of this hall? I asked looking at Jeremy. "Right away boss" he rushed out of the room.

Jonathan:"How are you going to make sure the place is perfectly safe by not having any officers around them? Just with Mark alone, he will not be able to handle anything if something pop up suddenly" he said looking at me with concerned in his eyes.

Ash:"I know what I am doing and you guys will be inside the hall as well; queuing up like everybody to meet up the actor and actress of this movie plus I will meet up Mark tomorrow and discuss something with him. Not to worry. Please trust me on this, okay?" I requested and he just nodded. "Great, so we have two days to get people in and plan things out once we got the blueprint tomorrow" I said then Jeremy rushed in and says he managed to get the blueprint and they can only send over tomorrow morning. "Well done, Jeremy!" I exclaimed. "Since is late, why don't you guys pack your stuff and go back and rest early. We will have a busy day in the coming two days" I smiled and gestured them to go home. "Do you need a ride?" Jonathan asked. "I am good and I want to get something from 7-11 later. Thanks for your offer" I smiled and thanked Jonathan.

Both of them waved bye to me then walked out of the office. I packed by tumbler and memo book into my backpack, switching off the lights then walked out from the office. I waved bye to the security guard then walked across towards the subway. Once I reach my destination, I walked out of the train and exit the subway. I drop-by 7-11 and grabbed some beer and sandwich then pay at the counter. After 5 minutes' walk, I reach my apartment and walked into the compound and waved hi to the security guard; Harrod. "Hi Harrod" I greeted him then pass him a can of beer. "You know I can't be drinking while I am on duty right?" he smiled and look at me. "I know. You can keep it until you finish your shift then drink it" I passed him the can of beer and he took it. "Thank you pal" he smiled and I walked towards the entrance and press for the elevator and up to my apartment unit.

Once I am inside my apartment, I put my backpack on the dining chair, take out my gun holster and put it on the night stand in my bedroom then walked into the kitchen and open up the fridge and put in two cans of beer while I opened up a can for myself. I unwrapped the sandwich then take a bite while sitting down on the dining chair, opened my notebook and checked my email. I clicked open the email sent over by Sophia and read through the schedule of the blonde goddess. "She really has a tight schedule and filming itself already took her almost half a day then don't mentioned about photo shoot" while finished up my sandwich and starts drinking my beer. "Wonder how she manage her dating life.. Is she even dating someone? It seems the co-actor, Marcus seems to be very close to her" I signed then finished up my beer and walked into the kitchen, throws the wrapping paper and beer can into the rubbish bin. Washed my hand and I walked into my room to get a new set of sports bra and boxer pants and went to shower. After shower, I walked back to my notebook and start to search on some road information, traffic cameras, security cameras of nearby buildings and inside the community hall of Nothing Hill. I marked down each cameras and angle. After 2 hours, I saved my work and shutdown my notebook and put it back inside my backpack then went to my bedroom and dozed off.

*blink blink* I saw my phoned light up then unlocked it. There is a message from and unknown number. *Hey, thank you for what happened today at the station. I am glad that you are around when I have my anxiety and breakdown and also on everything you and your team has done. Well, is late and good night and sweet dreams, Ash - Christina* I shocked and can't believe my eyes when I noticed who sent me these messages; is my emerald blue eye goddess. *Is my pleasure and hope that you feel better now. Goodnight my love and sweet dreams* I texted back immediately. The message was sent and read. I then put my phone back to the night stand and goes back to sleep while smiling widely thinking of her.

Christina POV

I have been tossing and turning on my bed for the last one hour yet can't go to sleep. Once I close my eyes, I can see those hazel eyes in-front of me. "Why am I still thinking about her? Why does my heart skipped a beat when she is close to me? Am I really into her? Well, she did calm me down this afternoon in the station when my anxiety kicks in" I smiled thinking how closed we are when she hugged me and I can smell strawberry scent on her. "I think I should text her and thank her personally... but is she still awake? Well, if she isn't then is better because I don't know how to response when she reply calling me love again" I blushed thinking about the pet name she called me this afternoon. I take my phone and send a text to Ash thanking her on helping me this afternoon and on everything she and her team had done. Immediately after my messages sent through, she replied *Is my pleasure and hope that you feel better now. Goodnight my love and sweet dreams* she texted back and I can felt my cheek getting warmer from the way she called me. I immediately locked the phone and try to sleep while grinning from ear to ear.
