Temper tantrums

"What is wrong with you? You know how bad she felt after you left? You think you're the queen of this world! You can do anything you want, be rude to anyone, but still want people to bow down to you?", he shouted at her without a pause. "If you thought I was one of them, then you're mistaken!", he was clearly fuming.

Whereas, she was unusually calm because of the tiredness of her breakdown. "I was foolish to think that you came here to check on me. You've never changed.", she noted dryly more of talking to herself than him.

"You are the culprit, so don't act victim to me."

"You're right! I'll apologize to her. Send me her number and get out of my room.", she only agreed because she was bound by the contract.

"You better! But remember this. If you do anything to ever hurt Tanya..." he trailed his words and came closer to her again, "I'll not hesitate to kill you", he left smashing the door closed on her face.

"Arghhhh!" she sighed deeply and sat on the bed exhausted. She already expected the party to turn into a disaster but, was glad it didn't happen in front of her father. Dhruv was much better to take head-on than him. He would've nagged her endlessly to go to pscychiatrist and get it treated right away.

She changed soon and went to bed after taking a sleeping pill whereas, he paced his room regretting his decision of ever marrying her. He was stupid to think that she would've changed after all these years. After sending a message of heartfelt apologies to Tanya, he reassured himself and went to bed. 'I'm never talking to her again', he decided before drifting into sleep.

"Is this the best you've got?", Riya was abusing the marketing head over a stupid advertisement idea he had proposed. The Sales & Marketing teams sat in the board room pitching their ideas to the boss. This was their usual Monday ritual and as always Riya was blasting them for suggesting all stupid and preposterous proposals.

"Rework! It doesn't even show emotions or feelings. It's blunt!", she yelled again when they just dropped their heads so low without a reply. "Mam!", a young woman from marketing team raised her hand. "We also have an idea from the newly joined intern. Do you want to hear that?", she spoke excited.

"Not documented?"

"No, Mam! Apologies. I just heard it today morning and thought I'll suggest during the meeting", she pursed her lips. "Don't you know I never see undocumented ideas? Huh?", she sharply yelled making everyone quiver with fear.

"Sorry, Mam", the young lady was almost on the verge of crying. Riya let out a deep breath and ran a hand through her hair. "Talk to your superior before opening your mouth in a meeting. Come up with some new ideas!", she told them firmly and stepped out of the board room.

The young lady let out the tears she was holding up, immediately after Riya left the room.

"It's fine! Haven't I told you not to talk in meetings?", her superior cheered her up and handed some tissue papers to wipe the tears which were now flowing like an overflown dam. "I messed it up… Sorry…. Am I going to be fired?", she asked innocently in between sobs.

He only sighed, "You will if you do that again… Be careful", he patted her shoulder and left her behind in the big board room.

"Bunch of imbeciles!", Riya fumed and ordered Kamu to prepare a pile of documents and spreadsheets before he left for the day. Kamu decided that it was going to be another long night for him.

Ever since the incident with Dhruv, her temper only got worse. He was now completely avoiding her like an immature kid and it was driving her crazy. Awkwardness spread around every time they crossed each other or ate together at the same table. She couldn't wait for him to grow up.

She noticed Sam already waiting in her office room.

"Hey, married girl!! Didn't see you in awhile!"

"Cut it out! You know its fake". She got seated, totally annoyed at everything, and removed her new shoes which was shooting pains through her heel all day. Soon after, she started going through emails, completely ignoring Sam.

"I know… But it's been three weeks. Something must've happened, right", Sam giggled imagining some cliché romantic stuffs when Riya only glared at her. "What?", Sam demanded innocently.

"I pushed off his sister-in-law when she hugged me during our family party. He got pissed, threatened to kill me, and has avoided me ever since." she narrated it without interest.

"Oh! You didn't explain him why you did that?"

"I don't have to explain myself to anyone!" She replied rudely and paused to look up at her friend's face with a troubled expression on it. "But I did apologize to the said sister-in-law" she finished her sentence.

"You? apologized?" Sam's eyes only widened with each word. Riya nodded to that.

"She must've accumulated many good deeds in her past life for that to happen", Sam exclaimed sarcastically to which she was responded with a cold stare.

"Even after you apologized, he's not talking to you?"

"Let's go have lunch. I'm sick of this topic!", she got up briskly and moved out of her office in a wink.
