Ch.2 The Red Candy (2)

"want one? It's delectable" Fannie offered few candies with a pleasant smile on her face, as she walked over to him.

the boy was sobbing silently curled up like a soft cotton ball, with his head sunked in his hands. when he heard a offering voice..he quickly wiped his tears and looked up to see a pretty girl with a pleasant smile offering candies.

the boy had tender features, Light brown hair with golden highlights covering his almond shape wet eyes, his cheeks were wet and tip of his nose was reddish, the boy stared at her for a while Then plumped for a Red Candy. His hand were so tiny that the candy almost covered his palm exposing the fingers. he licked it with his rosey pink lips.

Fannie smiled and sat next to him, introducing herself "Fannie Mae, how about you?"

But she didn't get any reply from the other person. " don't be nervous " Fannie said offering another red candy.

"Zuri "The boy said quietly taking the candy

They didn't chat nor did they play just eating candies and watching the other ones playing.

"Zuriiiiii hurry back we gotta go back" The voice came like bolt from the blue.

Zuri leaped up and ran towards the voice waving his hands to Fannie saying

"goodbye "

though Fannie and Zuri didn't exchange many words but today she enjoyed coming to the playground.

It was bout to be dinner time. "Everyone get together we are going back. no more playing " Lily said lifting her navy blue bag and straightening her dress

Fannie arrived early as she was nearby and slowly everyone gathered.

In around 10 min they reached back.

Fannie went directly to the kitchen and asked "I'm hungry, what's for dinner today Ima". There was no one except Luis, Eme and Jack who were famous for bullying . they were a year older then Fannie. No one wants to face them unless they are tired of their lives here. Their large body and Faux Hawk with Undercut hair makes them look lil older then their age. they would be the last person in the orphanage whom Fannie would talk to.

So without saying anything she turns to leave the kitchen.

"Seems like everyone's back, good now that you are here already, clean this mess" Luis said approaching Fannie followed by Eme and Jack.

Fannie stood there without speaking as Jack blocked her path and said

"what, You don't wanna do?".

"NO" she respond in a guttural voice.
