Ch.6 Heart Attack!!

"Zuriiiiii hurry we gotta go back"

she got up ran in the direction of the voice. She turned around, waved back implying to say she will be right back. "Dad dad can I play for little longer" she shouted rushing towards them

"honey slow down or you will trip " Louie said getting off of the car followed by Jamie. Seeing the scratches and dirt on her face and dress Jamie reached out and held her in his arms, " Zuri how did you get those scratches, we have to disinfect it so we need to hurry back" Louie said wiping her face with a wet tissue. "but Dad she's waiting for me" she said pursing her lips

"She.?" they asked surprisingly

"yes, i made a new friend, now let's hurry or she will feel lonely. "

They walked to the ground

Seeing the empty ground she felt dejected.

"Did you ask her to stay?" Jamie asked patting her back. she nodded and said "i implied her to stay" "and how did u imply?" Jamie asked again

zuri waved her hand right and left to show the motion. Louie chuckled but controlled himself after Jamie slapped his arm lightly. "Zuri what you implied was for goodbye not for 'to stay'. you need to be clear with what you want to confess to the other person, if u want someone to wait, u need to wave fornt and back " Louie said kissing her cheeks. "your papa is right" Jamie added

"what? Does that mean she didn't reject my friendship?"

"absolutely not, everyone wanna be friends with a beautiful girl like you" The two hugged her and said.

"I remember dad waving like that to papa and papa didn't move" Zuri said while sitting in the back seat of the car.

it took a while for Jamie to understand what zuri was saying and when he realised, his face turned red as he blushed which made Louie chuckled.

After reaching home Jamie applied some ointment on her wounds. while she recounted how she was hurt and the girl she met in the garden and fell asleep.

The next day, as soon as she saw the children of the orphanage entering the park, she hurried to the park.

She saw Fannie and ran in the direction she was sitting, but when she remembered that she didn't wait for her yesterday, she forced herself to stop and wondered if she really didn't want to be her friend.

she started walking back and forth thinking whether to approach her or not. and Finally, when she couldn't think of anything, she walked over slowly and asked "M-May I join you?" in a low pitch.

she turned around and with a big smile she said "Woahh, you are finally here, sure ." Hearing those words Zuri's body felt strange. Her heart was beating so loudly she thought Fannie would hear it for sure. Wàs she waiting for me? she looks adorable when she's smiling. what's wrong with me today. i feel strange. Do i have a fever? Countless thoughts circled in her mind.

"So why were you crying yesterday?" she said in a mild voice which made Zuri back to reality.

her head was spinning.

she stood up and started running.

Before Fannie could say anything, she saw Zuri fell on the ground. She walked in a daze and helped her up. Seeing her crying she couldn't think of anything and hug her patting her back gently saying "It's ok, it's ok".

"I-I think i have a heart disease, and I'm going to die soon " she said sobbing "I don't wanna die " she added as she cry hard which made Fannie cry too. "don't diee wah ah ah ah." They hugged each other and cried attracting the attention of the elders. Lily rushed over to ask what was wrong , instead of answering they cried harder.

"baby, what's wrong?" Louie asked sitting on his knees. He then stretched his hand to their head and gently bought to his chest. "what's wrong?" he whispered. "Zuri is dying" Fannie sobbed as she hugged him. "It's alright here you all can continue playing" He said to the children gathered there.

"Im sorry to trouble you sir, I'll take care of Fannie " Lily apologised. "It's ok mam, she needs some time to calm down I'll take care of both, u can watch the others " He said with a genuine smile. "Then I'll leave her in your care thank you sir" She said walking back to the bench.

after giving them time to calm down he whispered

"Zuri, didn't you have a general examination a few days ago, what happened, tell me in detail."

"Dad when Fannie said she was waiting for me my heart was beating loudly that i could feel it, and my whole body was heating up" She said in a serious tone. "my parents died in a car accident, if zuri dies too I'll be alone again " Fannie said sobbing.

"Zuri is alright. she isn't dying " he said fondly.

"it's just Zuri might be running so she was feeling that" he hugged both the girls making them feel comfortable and they fell asleep.
