I Love You, You Should Know

"So, what are you exactly?" she still didn't look in his direction.

"Half-human, half-demon." That seemed to make her laugh. "What?" he asked, confused. "What is funny?"

"You." She shook her head in disbelief. "Half demon baby? What are you, a celestial of some sort, then?" He could hear her inclination to roll her eyes.

"Not sure about the age-old lore. I haven't been around as long as the celestials. My mother made a pact with a demon… my father. They fucked because of it. I was born. Yeah." That was the short version of it.

"And how is your relationship with your family?" Anna asked, the humor evident in her voice.

"Haven't seen or heard from my dad in the past five or six hundred years." Anna choked at the number of years. "And my mom drops by during vacation. We have a meal or two and she flies off to wherever she wants to go next." He shrugged. Her silence spoke volumes. "You aren't the only one who looks young for their age," he commented lightly.
