A Little Jealous

She was led out, embarrassingly on a stretcher, and into the emergency room. The police wanted her to be treated in a single room because they worried about her safety. Good thing they were willing to pay for the expenses because most victims would die under hospital bills. It was better to die from illness than live with the debt of a couple of lifetimes incurred from treatment at hospitals.

She lay limply on the bed, and an officer was stationed in the room, overseeing her primary check-up. The female doctor checked her vitals before nodding. She turned to the officer in the room. 

"Would you mind stepping out for a moment? I wish to speak in private with the patient," she commented calmly.

The officer raised his brow. "Sorry, I have been asked to stay here."

The doctor sighed. "I am sorry. This is regarding sensitive information about the patient's life. She will not be comfortable if you are in the room when she speaks to me."
