“I didn’t love you back then.” He shrugged.

And so, the supervillain fell in love with the hero. That couldn’t be a good thing, right? Sometimes, the hero is corrupted by the villain and switches their side. Other times, the villain becomes a wife-dotting slave and gives her everything she asks for.

The negotiator looked like he was pondering the situation before he nodded. "That is acceptable. It is only a matter of time before they reach the location. Please hold fire until that happens. It takes a lot of time for them to be transported from their cells to here."

A1 nodded. "Of course. Don't worry. In the meantime, I will treat your little citizens to some food," he said calmly. "So that I know you are not just buying time, I need you to live-stream as our friends are being transported."

The negotiator did not pause before he agreed. This was something he was ready to do from the beginning. From the background, Anna could tell the negotiator was inside the main tent where the military officials had taken residence. He was so near that he could calculate which course of action would be the best.
