Arowana Academy: Origin

"So, today we'll be-" said Mister Hill before he got interrupted by Mister Williams who came out of nowhere.

"Hi, my beloved students, how's the class?" asked Mister Williams in a teasing manner.

"How's the class?, you got to be kidding me, this is the worse classroom I've ever seen in my life" said Daniel in angry tone. I mean, who wouldn't be angry?

"You owe us an explanation Mister Williams" I said.

"Well, let me tell you the origin and why you all are going to be studying in this class" said Mister Williams in a calming voice.

"Alright Mister Williams" said all of us at the same time.

"So it all started in the year 1972, the year that my father, the founder and the first principal of this school opened this school, and this is the first classroom that was built under the name Arowana Academy, quite an odd name isn't it?, when I asked my father about the meaning of the word Arowana that I have never heard of, he said the word comes from a name of a fish, a very beautiful fish, So, back to the topic, at the time my father works as a contractor, this classroom was built in the year 1982, It was built by none other than my father and his bestfriend, Uncle Jonathan who also was a contractor. The two of them were very kind hearted. My father, always had this dream of becoming a teacher, one day, when he was walking home, he saw this place, it looked beautiful, he was taken aback by the breathtaking scenery of this place, He never knows that this place exist. The next day, he went to Jonathan's house and explained to him the whole thing, Jonathan didn't believe that such place can exists, and so, my father took him there and as expected, his reaction was priceless. I asked my father, how does the place looked?, but he can't answer it because of his fading memories, the only thing that he could say was that this place is not like how it used to be, there's no wild animals running around, there weren't dead leaves scattered all over the place, the trees are fresh unlike how it is today, the grass were bright green and not dark green. The way he phrases it makes me feel like this place used to be heaven, and now it is nothing more than just a jungle. As I was talking previously, my father and Jonathan had a plan in mind, a very ambitious plan, they wanted to build a building here and start a cram school, at first, they were short on money, but as time goes by full of hard work and dedication, they finally had enough money in their hands to start this wonderful project. Day after day, my father and Jonathan would bring fresh high quality woods that they bought using their own money gained from those countless days of work. My father and Jonathan were very talented and creative, so, building a small classroom wasn't that big of deal, their craftsmanship was on another level, so for 4 months, they would come here everyday and build this. After 4 months, it was finally finished, it wasn't a fancy tuition center, but it is a place that you could study comfortably. At first, no one was coming, I mean, they don't have degree or anything like that, but let me tell you these, those two were very smart people, my father is a math wizard while Jonathan was a science freak, the only reason they didn't go to a university was because their parents can't afford it, no one was willing to give them scholarships either, so after graduating high school, the both of them starts working as contractors, they were the best contractors at the time, but it wasn't their passion, they wanted to teach people, to share their knowledge to people. So, days and days of promoting their tuition center, they finally got their first student, her name was Denise, she comes from a poor family, just like my father and Jonathan, Her parents were searching for a cheap tuition center to sent their daughter to, luckily, they found out about this place, my father sympathizes her, so he offered her free of charge education, Jonathan being the man he is, agrees with my father's choice to teach her for free, Her parents of course were very shocked, they almost cried because of their act of kindness. So from that day onward, Denise would drop by everyday after school to come to this place to learn. Sure, they weren't making any profits but, their dream wasn't to make money, but it is to pass their knowledge. Countless days have gone by since Denise starts coming here, she was described by my father as a diligent and hard working student, she's very polite and light hearted too, said my father. She passed her final exams in flying colors after attending my father's tuition center, words got out and their tuition center was suddenly famous, many people starts to send their kids there, they even got acknowledge by the Learning Society, their tuition center were growing fast, they were making a lot of profit that now they can hire workers, both of them now are very famously known as the "Two Erudition". They were happy, very happy that they are finally acknowledge as real teachers, they were respected, many of their students manage to graduate school with stunning marks. As times goes on, the both of them got married, and have kids, with the profit they received, they built a school, no an academy, named Arowana Academy. This building at the time were used as a classroom for the elites, you see, this place was very special at the time, everyone wants to study in this classroom, it was the dream classroom. But, as times goes on, the both of them gets older, and shockingly, Jonathan was diagnosed with lung cancer. He only had a year left to live, my father didn't find out about this for seven months, can you believe it?, your bestfriend that has been by your side from the very beginning is diagnosed with cancer for seven months already. And after a few more months of living in sickness, Jonathan passed away leaving the academy in my father's hand, and since Jonathan's death, this classroom was abandoned till this day".

"Wow, never thought this classroom meant so much..." Chester said with a small voice, it's almost like he's whispering.

"Look Mister Williams, I know this classroom holds many priceless memories, but what are your motives putting us in here?". Daniel asked in polite tone trying to not ruin the mood.

And so, Mister Williams start talking again. "Well, as you guys are already aware, this is no ordinary classroom, there's dangerous animals, the structure is crooked and old, there's internet connection, there's even burglars sometimes, and most importantly, this place is haunted, a lot of supernatural stuff has been happening here. I'm giving you all a mission, and that mission is to survive."

"Wait that doesn't explain anything" said Daniel in a louder voice than before.

"Soon enough, you'll all know why I put you all in this classroom, the only thing I want you to do now is study hard and survive this year, good luck." after saying those words, he left the classroom immediately.

We were even more confused, did he say this class is haunted?

what does he mean by survive?
