Ainz returned to his office and sat down at a desk with more paper than when he had left.
'Well, I did just accidentally expand the Tomb. If anything I should work harder to reduce the work that Demiurge and Albedo are now stuck with.'
Ainz sighed and picked up the reports written by Albedo on the inhabitants of the Vault.
1st Legion: The Adamantine Fists
Levels: 35 Numbers: 2500
Description: The first legion is composed of enchanted adamantine Living Armors that wield enchanted adamantine Living Weapons. They are all martial combatants and should be treated as expendables due to their low levels. If we were to compare an individual from the New World to a soldier of the 1st Legion then the soldiers seem much more useful. By my personal estimates, each Legionary is equivalent to an Adamantine ranked adventurer (using Blue Rose as a baseline).
Commander: Venerable Dreadnought (Golem)
Levels: 81
Description: Venerable Dreadnought is a large adamantine Golem that measures just over 8 ft in height. It is a tank type with slow attacks. Upon reaching critical health it will self-destruct, the blast is similar in power to the super-tier spell [Fallen Down].
2nd Legion: Hunger of Ammutseba
Levels: 1-45
Numbers: 4+
Description: The second legion is made up of the insectoid creatures known as Teratects. Technically the legion consists of its commander and four Spawning Pits. Each Spawning Pits is capable of producing an infinite amount of Teratects. They can create all Teratect subspecies upto level 45 and can possibly create more powerful subspecies in emergency situations. Much like the Adamantine Fists, this legion was likely created to serve as cannon fodder.
Commander: Warmind (Hivemind)
Level: 82
Description: Warmind is a Hivemind that resides within the second legion's citadel in the Vault. It is a commander type that directs its forces from a central command unit. The Warmind is a master of strategy and is described to be "a bio-supercomputer". It has access to powerful psychic abilities and spells which it uses to lead it's Teratect swarms. The Warmind currently uses a high-end Teratect subspecies known as a Hive Tyrant as a host of sorts due to its lack of mobility.
3rd Legion: The Eternal Return
Levels: 40-50
Description: The Eternal Return is an undead legion. It is made up of mid-tier undead, many of which are present in large numbers in the Sorcerous Kingdom (Death Knights, Soul Eaters, etc.). However it also contains undead such as Crypt Ghouls, Mummies and Effigies. The main gimmick of the legion lies in its commander.
Commander: Death Authority (Tyrant Demilich)
Level: 83
Numbers: 1500
Description: The Death Authority has a skill that makes it so lower level undead cannot die while near it. This combined with another skill which allows it to instantly revive defeated undead creatures makes its legion seemingly unkillable. The Death Authority is proficient in instant death spells, which is also the only type of spell it can use. The Death Authority itself is not particularly intimidating. It is just a large human shaped skull that is plated in silver and deep blue gems sits in its sockets.
4th Legion: Praetorian Blades
Levels: 58
Numbers: 700
Description: The Praetorian Blades is a shock troop legion made up of Warforged. Their armor makes them look like high fantasy robot Roman soldiers. They all wield a melee weapon in one hand and a spellgun in the other. Despite not using shields, they are very sturdy and their resistances and health resemble that of a level 100 caster.
Commander: Legatus (Warforged)
Level: 84
Description: The only way to distinguish Legatus from the others in his legion is by the large red plume on his helmet. Beyond that he is simply a fighter/gunner hybrid that is much stronger then his legionaries.
5th Legion: Knights of the Cathedral
Levels: 64
Numbers: 550
Description: The Knights of the Cathedral are all members of the Giant race. They are equipped in large plate armor that they wear over their clergy robes. They excel in melee combat and can faith cast as well (similar to Shalltear's build, perhaps inspired?).
Commander: Nazarick Apostle (Chaos Storm Giant)
Level: 85
Description: Nazarick Apostle is a blue giant who wears simple monk robes, he is the very definition of jack of all trades, master of none. He has the skill set of a fighter, rogue and ranger who can spellcast using faith or intellect. As a combatant he is not very impressive, unlike most of his peers.
6th Legion: Radiant Watch
Levels: 72
Numbers: 90
Description: The Radiant Watch is a legion dedicated to healing and enchantment magic. It is entirely made up of angels. There is not much else to comment on.
Commander: Seraph Aasimar (Seraphim Arch Imperium)
Level: 100
Description: Seraph Aasimar is the only NPC outside of the 13th Legion that is level 100. She is a full support type who casts healing, debuffing, buffing, and cleansing spells. Much like her legion there is not much else to say. (Erase this later. She is beautiful and better not be more competition.)
7th Legion: Plague Bearers
Levels: 87
Numbers: 1(?)
Description: The Plague Bearers legion is strange since its only member is its commander. However the commander is able to split itself into smaller semi-autonomous versions of itself so it is difficult to label.
Commander: Pestilent Colossus (Elder Oblex)
Level: 87
Description: Pestilent Colossus is a green slime that is a cubic mile in size. It is a caster type that specializes in disease, poison, curse and rot spells. Its AoE spells and abilities are devastating to anything living and can cause permanent changes to the landscape.
8th Legion: Subjugator Legion
Levels: 77
Numbers: 35
Description: The Subjugator Legion consists of 30 demons that are high level casters. They specialize in attack magic and their approach to combat is to drown the enemy in waves of destructive spells. They can be described as a living artillery unit.
Commander: Watcher (Beholder)
Level: 88
Description: Watcher is a large purple ball with a single cyclopean eye and ten thin tentacles, each with a small eyeball attached to its ends. It is a powerful caster, able to cast through the use of its tentacles; this allows it to cast up to ten spells at once.
9th Legion: Silent Legion
Levels: 80
Numbers: 30
Description: The Silent Legion are proficient in the art of stealth. They make very good assassins due to their hyper specialized builds. While they are the same levels as a Hanzo, they are very efficient in combat which makes it so that they are not limited to covert operations.
Commander: Ebonshadow (Elf)
Level: 89
Description: Ebonshadow is a wood elf whose build focuses on stealth and massive burst damage. Her access to shadow magic makes her the perfect assassin. Her leather and scale mail armor the best equipment out of any Legion Commander, with the exception of Medulla and Azirim.
10th Legion: Siege Dancers
Levels: ?
Numbers: 25
Description: The Siege Dancers is a mountain of equipment. Other than its commander, everything else in the legion are siege engines. A short list includes: animated siege towers, hellstorm engines, warp lightning catapults and exterminus cannons.
Commander: War Smith (Duergar)
Level: 90
Description: War Smith is a deathly pale dwarf who maintains and creates new weapons of war. He has no combat abilities and holes himself in the 10th Legion citadel continuously creating prototypes for new weapons of war.
11th Legion: Dragon's Terminus
Levels: 88
Numbers: 14
Description: Each soldier of the Dragon's Terminus legion was handcrafted by the Supreme Being Sixs. They were made to specifically hunt dragons, this includes their equipment.
Commander: Scalebreaker (Retribution Revenant (undead fallen celestial))
Level: 91
Description: Scalebreaker is a more powerful variant of the 11th Legion soldier. His brass colored equipment has unique enchantments that allows it to chip away at enemy resistances and prevents its wearer from hitting critical health while in combat with a dragon. He wields a heavy spear and carries a massive shield.
12th Legion: Eclipse Knights
Level: 98
Numbers: 10
Description: Every member of the Eclipse Knights are the exact same, there is zero deviation in their design. They are weapon masters and carry on them a sword, a spear, a shield and a bow; however they are proficient in the use of any weapon. Their main strength lies in their auras and their racial ability that exponentially increases their resistances as they lose health. This ensures that they can outlast any opponent and removes the danger of being instantly killed by a powerful spell or ability.
Commander: None
13th Legion: XIII
Levels: 100
Numbers: 6
Description: A legion in name only, the 13th Legion is the legion where the special NPCs of the Vault belong. The NPCs that belong to this legion are as follows: Gatekeeper, Cataclysm Dragon, Worldbreaker Dragon, Archfey Dragon, Medulla and Azirim.
Commanders: Medulla and Azirim
