Planetary Annihilation

"Are you okay?" Alina asked with an anxious look on her face.

"Yeah. It doesn't hurt much in the game," Ziro replied.

"Don't lie! The pain senses and receptors are equally matched in the game and the real world. So you should feel the same level of pain as you would in the real world."

Ziro stood up, saying, "If you knew then why did you ask?"

Alina pulled Ziro back and said, "Let's retreat."

After staring at Alina's serious face for some seconds, Ziro sighed and groaned, "Fine~"

He didn't want to worry Alina or make her upset because of his selfishness, but he had decided that he would come back here and defeat this monster once he grows a little stronger.

"How do we leave though?" he questioned.

"We just need to teleport to the login point." Alina opened her menu to show Ziro, but the option to teleport was unavailable.

"Has been one minute already?" she questioned herself.

"I am pretty sure it has been more than 3 minutes, actually," Ziro remarked.

This was a coom occurrence for players to run into bosses they couldn't defeat, or if they were just tired and wanted to leave. So the game allowed the players to retreat from any kind of battle— without any penalty as long as it was within a minute.

Alina let would a weary sigh and said, "Then we can't leave this place unless we die."

Ziro raised his brows and said with a smirk on his face, "Guess we will die."

He then tightened his grip on his sword and uttered, "But after we kill this monster."

After watching the monster flying around the chamber, Ziro turned to Alina and asked, "Any idea how to kill it?"

"Most of the boss' weak points are their cores, but this one is made from fire, so I don't think it has any cores," Alina answered.

Ziro squinted his eyes and watched the monster carefully, then wondered, "Are they based on RNG? Or is it an AI-based monster?"

"All the monsters in this game are AI-based, so you can't abuse their system."

"Then it's better," Ziro grinned.

"Huh?"

Before Any could understand or ask Ziro what he was talking about, Ziro dashed towards the wall in front of him.

He climbed the wall and did a backflip, but instead of falling down, he flew upwards.

Ziro swung his sword at the monster's wings, but his sword passed through its body and he fell down beside Alina.

"Fuck you!" he yelled.

All this time, ZIro was thinking that the monster has a solid physical body as it has taken a shape, and was doing solid attacks, but it turned out to be a fire form.

"How did you do a stunt like that?" Alina asked with a surprised and curious look on her face.

"That's what you want to know?!"

"Just curious," she muttered.

"I used the air pressure coming from this monster, so when I jumped, instead of falling down, I was sent upwards."

"That was simpler than I thought," she remarked.

Ziro glared at the monster and uttered, "It's not simple to defeat this monster."

Ziro was at disadvantage here. He was only level three with no skill that could possibly help him. Sure, he knew skills and had talents in the real world, but he couldn't use them against this monster.

The monster started flapping its wing harder and harder, and pushed Alina and Ziro against the wall just by its pressure.

"This is the worst date of my life!" Alina shouted.

Ziro pressed his feet against the wall and tried to stand up on the wall to attack the monster.

"Don't say that. My every single second with you is precious, and…"

Ziro stood up on the wall and pointed his sword at the monster: "And I won't let this one become trash."

'I said that but I have no idea what to do. This monster is clearly far more stronger than it looks. It isn't even using any attacks yet, and if it does, then I don't know about Alina but I would surely die in one shot.'

Ziro carefully instructed the monster's body.

'Alina said all the monsters have cores, so it must have one too. But we both saw it took form from the fire.'

'The one way to extinguish the fire is to remove all the preset oxygen, but I don't think this game works like that. So I must find a way to kill this monster before it starts attacking.'

Ziro was having many thoughts, but he couldn't find a way to defeat the monster.

Alina watched Ziro as he struggled to even stand straight against the monster.

'I guess I have no other choice,' she thought and let go of her swords. She moved her hand to her pocket and took out a small wand, and a ring.

[Ring of Elf Equipped.]

[+1200 MP Points added to the player.]

After wearing the ring on her thumb, she glanced at Ziro and found him staring back at her.

"Don't worry! I got this!" he yelled.

Alina couldn't help but smile a little after hearing that.

'He has always been like that ever since we were kids. Always bearing all the responsibilities and suffer all the pain alone.'

Alina had remembered everything from her childhood after her memory glitch, although she wasn't sure whether it was her memories or the other Alina's. But since they both were the same, she accepted those memories.

Alina closed her eyes and raised her wand to point it to the monster, then muttered a spell. It caught the monster's attention and opened its mouth to breathe fire.

Alina picked up her sword and muttered something again, then looked at Ziro with a smile on her face.

Air started rotating around Alina's body and the pressure from the monsters no longer affected her. She stepped on the floor and swung her sword in the air. The dimension from where she swung her sword was cut and her stricks could be seen moving in the air.

The air around Alina rose and turned its color to red, then she pointed her wand at the monster and swung her sword one last time.

All her attacks launched at the monster.

The air deformed the monster's body and her sword strikes cut the air to make the monster's form smaller.

Once its form turned small, Alina raised her want and gestured it in the air. Hundreds of shining arrows, spears, and swords appeared above the monster and trapped it in a small spot.

After using all those heavy and overpowered attacks at once, Alina's MP was down to 0, and her HP was about to hit Ziro.

Even after wearing the ring of elf, that granted her 1200 MP points, her attacks consumed more MP points than she had.

Alina was aware of the outcome and knew she would die if she used too many skills at once.

She could use HP potions, but since she had overused her MP, her HP was depleting constantly. So even if she had used any HP potions, her HP would keep decreasing for 10 minutes no matter what happens.

So she chose to not use HP potions to waste them and die. Her body turned transparent and started fading away.

Alina looked at Ziro— who was looking back at her with a concerned and horrified look on his face, and then spoke with a gentle smile on her face, "It seems you get to do the last strike."

Then, her body faded away.

[Installing The File Into The Host.]

Some unknown memories flashed in Ziro's mind that he would recall or remember happening.
