HPMRS CH 142: Magical Hogwarts Express!

Ryan kept thinking about the previous question after changing his school uniforms as required: What kind of transportation will Hogwarts utilise to transfer kids so that everyone may traverse the massive Atlantic Ocean and bypass half of the world to Castrobe, South America? He even talked about it with Hermione.

Apparition and Portkey were the first to be ruled out because Ryan remembered how the two schools made an appearance at Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament in the canon and believed that Hogwarts would not embrace such a form of transit. After all, as a prominent school with a thousand-year history, it's impossible not to brag when the occasion calls for it.

Even apparition or Portkey has a limit; otherwise, for the Quidditch World Cup, if the crowd can arrive at the start of the show in a short time; why would they come early and wait for days?

The second one which was considered impossible was the flying carpets, flying broomsticks, and flying road nets for the same reason as the first one. These things are similar to Muggle motorcycles and trucks. This might have been possible if Sirius Black was the headmaster of the school, imagine professors and students riding their own motorcycles or taking an RV?

The schools of the wizarding world are not open to the use of Muggle transportation. Consider a scenario in which a party of Hogwarts students flew to Brazil and the Castelobruxo School sent people to meet them at the airport with a sign. Ryan thought the image was too wonderful to be seen.

In the end, it was nothing more than idle thinking that Hogwarts would have its own unique means of transportation, but Ryan did not anticipate Hogwarts to choose this Hogwarts Express, which did not appear to have enough historical significance, as a mode of transportation.

Hogwarts Express came to a halt at the platform's edge, the sound of steam rising from the steam chamber. Headmaster Dumbledore, Minister of Magic Fudge, four deans of the institute, and other Ministry of Magic officials stepped out of their car to greet the media, Ryan observed.

When the students saw them approaching the platform, they instantly rose up and formed a line. Only then did Ryan notice that there were only two Gryffindors, two Hufflepuffs, four Ravenclaws, and four Slytherins on the platform.

Sure enough, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff are academically considered weaker.

What followed was Fudge's speech, which is full of nonsense that declares the importance of communication and highlights the important role of the Ministry of Magic. Ryan almost fell asleep listening to it.

When Fudge finished his speech, the applause jolted Ryan awake from his almost sleep, and a reporter from the "Daily Prophet" appeared out of nowhere, hurriedly taking out his camera to film the moment.

Next came Dumbledore's speech. The headmaster's speech was much shorter than that of the minister, and it ended within a few minutes.

Naturally, because of it, Ryan gave more applause to the headmaster than to the minister.

After all the speeches ended, it was time for everyone to board the train. This time, the school sent Professor Sprout as the leader, and Silvanus Kettleburn, who had just retired this year, as the accompanying professor. Under their leadership, the little wizards took their luggage and boarded the Hogwarts Express.

Ryan saw that the sight in the carriage was drastically different than normal once everyone entered through the first carriage's door. The carriage was transformed into a tiny common room, with four different colours representing the school's four houses. A big Hogwarts school badge hangs on the wall as well.

When everyone got into the carriage, they heard the doors close with a dull thud. With the sound of a whistle, the train slowly ran on the tracks. Suddenly a feeling of overweightedness came, and several seniors nearby made exclamation sounds. Ryan followed the direction of their fingers and looked through the carriage window, and was surprised to find that the train had separated from the tracks and started flying towards the sky.

Given that no railroad runs from London to Castelobruxo, the Hogwarts Express must have found another means to get there. Everyone yelled as they had no idea the Hogwarts Express could fly and had been surprised by the train's rapid departure.

The flight itself isn't particularly memorable. Mr. Weasley, for example, is capable of building a flying car. It must be much easier for them to add a flight mode to the train, given that Hogwarts is the top organisation in the British magical world, after the Ministry of Magic, and is even older than the Ministry itself.

The Hogwarts Express reached the predetermined altitude and began a smooth flight a few minutes later. Professor Sprout also called everyone back from the carriage window at this point to begin making arrangements.

"All right, everyone, listen up." When Professor Sprout noticed that everyone had entered the lounge, she addressed the tiny wizards, saying, "There are four doors at the end of this common room, as you can see. Everyone go to the corresponding carriage according to your house. Your rooms have been assigned, and each person's bedroom door is labelled with their name. You should check into your rooms and put your belongings away. Then return to this location."

Ryan proceeded to the Gryffindor door and twisted the brass doorknob after listening to the professor's instructions.

When the door opened, Ryan was surprised to see the gold and red-decorated corridor of the train carriage in front of him. After pulling his bags through the entrance, he saw that on the right-hand side, there was a windowpane through which the person standing on the platform could be seen, assuming there was one, to begin with. A crimson velvet wallpapered wall panel may be found on the left side. On it, there is also a row of oil lamps. It's not a flame, but some translucent stones generating white light, as seen through the glass cover.

Ryan and Hermione have their own quarters in this Gryffindor house carriage. Ryan walked into the room and opened the door with his name written on it. Ryan noticed that this dormitory was similar to his own at Hogwarts, but it was a little smaller.

The Hogwarts Express includes two types of carriages, one of which is used for long-distance travel but hasn't been utilised in decades, according to Neville's letter. However, Ryan found that neither the lounge just now nor the room now had the sense of run-down that had been left for decades, instead, it looked like it had been cleaned yesterday. This should be attributed to the hardworking house-elves. At the very least, Ryan believed that the patina on the room's furniture should only be produced after a long period of diligent care.

Obviously, this train serves as the Hogwarts facade, but it is not as simple as it appears. Whether it's the lounges and dormitories that don't seem to fit in with the rest of the train, or the diverse furniture throughout the train, they all give people a sense of peace. They're all built on the foundation of a thousand-year-old institution.

When everyone arrived at the lounge after disposing of their luggage, everyone was surprised to find that all the coffee tables and sofas in the lounge just now were gone. The lounge is centred on a long table, which is surrounded by seats. Circle high-backed armchairs, which makes the lounge look more like a Hogwarts hall.

"Okay, everyone sit down," Professor Sprout stated from his position at the head of the table. "We still have a lot to do during this time."
