"Lashet just died," said Juverin. "The human I followed killed him," he continued.
Orcen was shocked. "Did you follow him to kill him, Lord Juverin?" moreover, a human who managed to kill Lashet, the strongest Calamity Dragon?
Juverin chuckled. "Kill him? Though I'm not sure if I can kill him or not?"
Orcen could feel his blood clot. A human who can make Juverin doubt? Could it be that the human was a High Human or a Demigod? And the human is here?
"I don't want to kill him. He killed my son, but he killed him quickly. He ended Lashet's suffering, something I couldn't do on my own."
Juverin spoke in a light tone, but his gaze was sad. "Dragons love their offspring so much. Because we live forever, sometimes we think that we can be together forever with them, but..."
Orcen stared at Juverin deeply. To be honest, he was also thinking the same thing. After living among humans for hundreds of years, he began to feel that the dragon's way of life and that of humans were completely different. He wanted to take care of his family forever, as father and leader of the Empire, but it seemed that would not fit their lives. "Is that why all my sons and daughters have been leaving me and marrying people outside Rotund lately?" Orcen wondered.
Does his desire to live happily with his family forever make his family who has human blood want to leave? It could be said that a half dragon and half human possess both dragon power and human ego. Could it be that they want to be accepted as themselves and their respective names not as his sons and daughters, but as themselves because they have human egos?
"Well," Juverin patted himself softly on the knee. "Dragons can live forever or die and return to earth whenever they want. My wife was so exhausted and hopeless that she decided to rest and leave us to the afterlife. I might decide to go if I don't go with that human," Juverin grinned.
"In that case, I must thank that human, Lord Juverin," said the Orcen.
Juverin chuckled. "Right. You should thank him for ending your cousin's suffering."
.
"Why are you crying?" asked Lucifer.
"Why am I crying?" Roxus asked, who quickly wiped her tears and looked sadly at Lucifer. "Why am I crying?" she asked again.
"Is it my goal? Do you feel that we both are the same?" asked Lucifer, trying to mock Roxus's emotional state.
Roxus was crying again. "You... Lucifer, don't you understand?"
"Are you surprised that a Demon like me wants to avenge my family?"
Roxus grabbed Lucifer's face and hugged him tightly. Lucifer raised his brow, confused.
"Does not matter. Even if you don't understand, it doesn't matter," Roxus said softly.
Lucifer hugged Roxus back. "Do you want to marry me, now?" he asked.
Roxus let out a small sigh, and Lucifer knew the woman had finally given up. "Okay, I will marry you. I will grant all of your requests as well in the future," Roxus said then.
"Why? Because I want to take revenge for my family? Did you pity me, because our situation is the same? Even though like you said, I already knew Daisy will hurt you again and purposefully took this opportunity to prove myself as the best future husband for you to your family and everyone?" asked Lucifer sarcastically.
Roxus knew Lucifer let Daisy hurt her. But as if she doesn't care, she smiled. "Because I love you," Roxus replied, making Lucifer slowly push Roxus away, trying to discern her true means. Roxus took a breath with a stuffy nose while chuckling. "I will love you as my husband," Roxus explained.
"Why are you so dedicated?" muttered Lucifer.
"From now on you are my family," Roxus said, grabbing Lucifer's cheek again and stroking it gently.
Lucifer gave a pleasing gaze. Finally, this woman fell into his hands. Finally, he can have Roxus. In the end, he didn't have to worry that this woman would fall into someone else's hands—
Finally, Roxus will allow Lucifer to protect her.
"So, now you will allow me to kill the bastards in your life as I please, right?" asked Lucifer.
Roxus raised her eyebrows. "What?"
"Ariaster, Leonid Bertia, the men who forced himself to you on the battlefield, the bandits hired to kill your parents, the nobles who didn't help you when your family was destroyed, everyone in this country, you allowed me to exterminate them all, right?" asked Lucifer.
Roxus's gaze softened. "Why do you want to kill them all?"
"From the start, I always wanted to do this. Because you always get in my way, I respect you and know that it's not my right. Now, can you let me do it?" Lucifer looked at Roxus with happiness that could not be hidden.
"Now I will be yours, and you will be mine. Am I not allowed to do all that for you, and myself?"
"So you held back all your will to get revenge for me all this time?" Roxus asked. "Because you don't want to offend me?"
"Right."
"And why do you want to do that for me so badly?" Roxus asked then.
"Because you are my contractor, before. But now, I guess because you are an important person to me," explained Lucifer.
Roxus closed her eyes, then nodded softly. "Okay, I understand. I feel the same thing too."
Lucifer blinked. Roxus also felt the same way as him? Does she also want to take revenge for him?
"I won't get in your way, Lucifer. You can do whatever you want, of course, without dragging my family along. We should still separate at some point, but we can still work together, right?" Roxus asked then.
Oh. Is Roxus saying that she too wants to join in on Lucifer's revenge?
"So you mean, you will help me? Even after you get everything you wanted?" asked Lucifer.
"I will help you with your revenge too. I know I won't be of any use to you when you want to face the Gods, but, at least, I won't let anyone else disturb you either. Even though this world's creature rarely worship any gods anymore, there was still churches and temples, also their avid worshipers. I can help you control the masses. After all, all this time, isn't that what I've done for you as well?" Roxus asked softly.
Right.
Lucifer thought for a moment. "Do you want to hear all the stories and reasons I want to kill the Gods now?"
Roxus chuckled. "If you want to tell me, I'll listen to you," Roxus replied.
"If I don't want to tell you..." Lucifer looked at Roxus' eyes deeply.
"I won't ask," Roxus continued with an understanding smile.
Lucifer took a deep breath. He buried his face in the crook of Roxus's neck and once again heaved a sigh of relief. "Very weird." Yes, his feelings are.
Hearing that Roxus laughed. "That is true." Yes, her feelings are.
"Roxus, I guess..."
"Hmm?"
"You… you know something, right? You know I will fall in love with someone, right?" asked Lucifer, feeling a slight stump in his chest. "I don't know and don't understand why you think like that, or how do you know it, but you can call my name, Lucifer, the Demon Lord, and nobody else could. You... you haven't said everything you know to me, have you?"
Roxus smiled faintly. She does know a lot of things. And about love, for Roxus it doesn't matter if Lucifer is not happy. He better never falls in love if love means pain.
While stroking Lucifer's back, Roxus closed her eyes. "Right. Do you want to know about what I know?"
Lucifer chuckled. "If you want to tell me, of course, I'll listen. But you don't want to tell me, do you?" Lucifer can guess. Someone he loves. For a second, he remembers red flowing hair in the middle of a cliff.
"Yes. I don't want to tell you," Roxus replied quietly.
Lucifer raised his head. The two of them met their eyes again. "Okay, now. We need to update our feelings for comfort. Keep being together like this, what do you think of our feeling?"
Roxus sighed. "In the first place, our feelings… aren't as trivial as superficial feelings like love, are they?" Roxus asked.
Lucifer laughed. "Even though you once said that our feelings could be a mocking for a true, pure love, but now you say love is superficial?"
"So, you really think that I care?" Roxus asked then.
"Heh," Lucifer grinned broadly. "It's good that you don't care."
