The Second Mission

"Are you… not satisfied?" the voice asked in weirdness before adding, "the Violet Eyes are very unique ones, I believe currently no one else in the entire tower has it."

"It's useless… it's sh*t!" he bellowed in rage while the response he got from the dot was only a sweet laugh.

"Why are you laughing?" he couldn't help but ask in frustration. He lived his entire life trying to overcome the pitfall of his eyes and erase that taboo. Yet he failed.

The only hope he once had was shattered, and the one who did it was now laughing in front of him.

He was this close to losing himself right now.

"Because you are acting like a kid," the voice laughed, "I'm not allowed to share much with you. All I can say is that over the ancient and rich history of the tower, everyone who gained these eyes turned into a legendary figure later on. It's not like what you think they are."

Her words were like cold water spilled over a hot iron. "Are… you telling the truth?" he landed with a weak body over his seat.

"Why would I lie to you?" the voice said before adding, "I can't lie, I can't cheat… you can depend entirely on the fact that anything I say is true."

"Then what are these eyes all about?"

"You have to discover that by yourself," the voice said before adding, "you'll get your innate talent activated when you are teleported to the first level of the tower. There you can test it to your heart's content, now it's time for you to select your path."

"My path?" he sarcastically laughed before giving her the answer he had prepared since long ago, "I choose the offensive path."

"Despite that it isn't a bad choice," she suddenly said, "but I strongly recommend another path."

"Another?" he muttered, "which path?"

There were five paths out there in the entire tower; offensive, defensive, auxiliary, support, and ace path.

"The ace path," the voice said.

"It's… another gamble," he strongly objected, "as far as I know this path is only suited for either extreme losers or those freakishly strong individuals."

"I can't explain, but I strongly recommend you to reconsider your choice," the voice didn't give him a definite answer.

"Screw it then," he bitterly smiled, "as if I have a chance anyway. I lived my entire life fighting not to be a loser and now I was doomed to be one… what's the difference then? Bring it on, let it be the loser path."

"The ace path?"

"Whatever," he carelessly waved his hand while not caring about anything anymore. He thought coming here would bring him new light in his dark life, yet it seemed he was delusional, living a dream that wasn't his.

"Be ready, you'll be teleported to the first level of the tower. Good luck and may the gods be in your favor."

"The gods are always against me," he muttered while feeling extreme disappointment and rage before a flash of light enveloped him out of nowhere and he was sent outside of this room.

Harry was bathed in the light for quite some time before the light finally faded away accompanied by the sweet voice ringing in his ears:

"The activation process of the innate talent is done. You gained the violet wrapping ability. Good luck and may the gods be in your favor."

The moment the voice vanished the scenery of the world appeared clear in front of his eyes. He was situated inside a deep valley in the middle of somewhere in level one world.

"What the…?!"

Harry was stupefied for a moment when he heard that. He stood there motionless, not knowing what he should do about this. "Isn't seeking other users' help a mistake?"

He couldn't help but examine the mission again. The system always had a red ball constantly flashing up on a corner in his vision. All he needed to do was to touch it and the main interface for the system would instantly expand next.

"So I have to accept this fate or else I would be sent back losing this ability and considered as failing this level… that's really weird," he muttered after reading the mission more than three times.

"Alright, how can I find them?" he didn't have a choice here.

"Start the mission," he said with lack of enthusiasm.
