Back to The Aeternus Universe

Once inside Jessica's room, I help her get inside the ZSR-10k. It can be a little confusing for the first time. "I'll run the program and take care of everything on this end. You focus on handling character creation. Make sure you take your time. There is no rush." She nods her head as the gaming pod closes, and I run the program that fixes the scanning process. Now I'll just let Jess take her time and do whatever she wants.

Now that I have a security system installed, I can rest easy knowing that I'm protected enough to react if someone tries anything. I'm definitely being watched, but by who is a question I can't answer yet. Once I have enough data, there will be no problems regarding that. I have to wait until more information is available.

I leave Jessica's room and head to mine. I hope into my ZSR and load into The Aeternus Universe. I spawn in the same place that I left, and that's in Pleiknor and Meiklare's daughter's apartment. I stretch my body and remember that there is still lots of time before Pleiknor and Meiklare check my work done on the ships.

That leaves me time to find out where I can get nanites in bulk. I still don't have enough credits to buy any nanites at the quantity that I need, but that doesn't mean I can't find good ways to make quick cash. In fact, I bet I can sell one of my many new ship designs to a major starship-making corporation. I head back over to the computer in the apartment, and I look up starship producers. I click the top link that pops up.

A company called Aegis is what I'm looking at right now. It's the leading producer in fighter starships. I have a couple of designs I can sell them that make their current products look like jokes. I click on one of the links that lead to a place about potential jobs for Aegis. They don't have anything about selling them a starship design, though.

So I check the business mails that various departments have, and I see one labeled as repair team. They would be the ones to contact about any designs I want to sell. I transfer the blueprints I have made on the workstation in the other room and put one of my earlier designs in a folder. I then write an email to the repair team for their starships. Hopefully, this actually works.

[Dear, Aegis corporation. I couldn't find anything on your website regarding the selling of blueprints to you, so I'll do it through the starship repair team. I've attached a file to this email with partial blueprints to one of my designs. If you are interested in buy the design, we can make a deal, and I'll send you the rest of the blueprint. You can contact me at this mail address.]

As I finish writing and click send, I get a message from the system. I open it, and it's multiple new player discoveries.

[Discovery for player Scott Autumn!]

[The act of sending mail]

[Explanation: You can send mail to anyone in The Aeternus Universe, whether they be a player or NPC. You can only do this at a station with a connection to the trans-galactic internet. It's up to you to figure out the rest.]

[Producing and Selling]

[Explanation: You have taken the first steps in selling your own creation in The Aeternus Universe. This can lead to massive amounts of money if you do it right. Don't forget to demand those royalties! You have to figure out the rest after this point.]

It's going to be interesting negotiating anything with a starship-making corporation. I decide to look up laws regarding patents and royalties in The Aeternus Universe. They could be different for all I know. Most of what I know is from earth, and I know a lot thanks to my mind. I use the search engine and try to find anything regarding laws about royalties and patents.

I click on the first site and begin to read. The information is stored and quickly put together in my head the more I read, after spending 35 minutes reading anything regarding what I want to know. I have a complete picture of what I want out of this deal. Aegis might think it's a little unfavorable for them, but my designs are top of the line.

Once I have that credit flow from royalties, I can fund many of my own personal projects. Nothing will be getting in the way of that. Who knows. I might even end up creating my own company. If I can influence The Aeternus Universe by making my own starship and selling it, I can assume that I can make my own company.

This will be so much fun, now all I got to do is wait, which is both the best and most boring part. I stand up from the computer and head towards the couch. I want to learn more history about The Aeternus Universe, and I'm going to do it through their holo-terminal. It connects to the internet, after all. I look forward to learning even more.
