I close the player interface showing the mission update. The flight tester catches up. He sends me a message that he wants me to do a rundown of the systems and show I know how this ship works. I do so very quickly, and I send the message.

I get a message back telling me to fly around and try to avoid getting destroyed—simulated destruction, of course. Starships can enter mock battles in outer space using weapon systems. Starships have censors to indicate where you've been hit. They can be used in these mock battles to intercept radio bursts in the form of fake weapon hits.

Simulating real battles. I start to fly away from him, and he follows me, immediately trying to disable me, but I use my mind and fingers to turn the ship and outmaneuver him. The difference in our ships is causing a glaring disadvantage for him.

I barrel roll to the left and abruptly stop. Letting him pass me. I'm now behind him. I wouldn't have been able to do that without the help of the ship. I lock on to him and start firing radio burst. Simulating hits, and soon I win. My ship is too agile and quick to lose. So it was an easy win.

He slows down to a stop, and I do as well. He sends me a message that I've passed, and we can head back to the workshop. I head down first and land my ship. That was way easier than I thought. He soon follows and lands his ship too. He exits his ship and walks over to me.

Pulling out a datapad at the same time. He enters some buttons, and after a second. The datapad produces a little metal card, and he hands it to me. It's my pilot's license. He walks away, and I can't help jumping up and down. I can now leave Empyrian!

I head towards the office as he gets back in his ship and leaves, likely on his way to do another test. I didn't think it would be so fast and easy. No wonder so many people are getting their pilot's license. They hand these things out like candy.

I walk into my apartment, and I take a load off on the couch. That completes everything I have on the board. Now, what do I do? I still have some things I want to handle on Empyrian. Mainly waiting for Durado to finish with Ziller. I guess that means I can get off and visit the real world after being in here for so long.

I open my player interface and log out. I slowly open my eyes in the gaming pod as it hisses open and the cool environment heats up from the outside warmth of the room. I step out and stretch my body. Being still for so long can cause many problems with a human body, but technically I'm not human anymore.

Still, it's a good idea to stretch after such a long time without movement. I finish adjusting my body, and walk towards my bathroom, and get out of my pajamas. I jump in the shower and start cleaning my body. It does feel good.

I sigh as I run my fingers through my hair and get all the grime and sweat off my body. The change from the cool environment to the hot one caused some sweat to form. I finish cleaning myself, and I get out and start drying myself off.

I walk out of the bathroom and get dressed in some shorts and a t-shirt. I walk out of my room and head towards the living room. I enter, and the TV is off, and it's good and quiet. The time is around 5 PM, and it's a good time to take a break. I make my way into the kitchen and start to look for food.

I find a good choice is microwaveable chicken nuggets. I need some protein, damn it. I make my way towards the fridge and pull out bottled water and chug half of it. The cool water making me relax.

As I turn back to the microwave, I hear footsteps coming towards the living and kitchen. I already know who it is. I feel her bare feet touch the kitchen tiles, and she makes her way towards me. "You finally decided to get off. I was starting to get worried." She hugs me from behind and pulls away after a couple of seconds.
