~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
I look at the navigation computer, and I'll be arriving at the destination in a few seconds. I place my helmet back on and my fingers in the jelly. I pop out of hyperspace and slow down as I approach a huge asteroid field. I look around and behind me is a gas giant.
It has literal asteroids orbiting it. "C'mon, kid, time to show you one of my only secure places to stay." Durado comes through on the radio, and I find his beacon on the radar. I make my way towards him. I take a little longer than I'd like cause I don't want to crash into an asteroid.
After I catch up to him, I see him waiting by a larger-than-normal asteroid. "Follow me." I watch as an opening unseals and a hanger appears. The hanger doors are perfectly disguised to look like they're a part of the asteroid.
I follow him inside, and I land on the only other landing pad. I turn off Autumn's Fall, and I lift the helmet off my head. The latch to the pilot's seat opens, and I look around the hanger. Durado gets out of his starship and makes his way toward me. "What do you think? Pretty inconspicuous, huh." I smile as I climb out of my starship.
I look around, and multiple doors lead to other places. It must've cost a fortune to build. My mind is already disassembling everything and reverse-engineering the entire hideout.
I get a scale, and the hideout goes throughout the entire asteroid. "I think it's amazing... I can't imagine how much it costs to have an asteroid hollowed out and formatted as an off-the-grid base. I can tell that the light being reflected off the gas giant provides the power. Along with the radiation coming from it." Durado looks at me with a confused expression.
He wasn't planning on me knowing about all this. To be fair, I just found out.
The science behind it is rather practical for a change. "I have several safe houses in multiple galaxies to lay low while I plan for my missions. This is the one I use the most while I'm in Impyra. It's formatted with everything. It has weapons defenses, and a hanger bay, as you can see. Living quarters, kitchen, workout facility. Everything I need in case I need to be here a while." I'll admit, I'm jealous.
I'd love to have just one of these. Durado has more than one. He starts walking to the door that leads to the command center.
I know that because my mind finished what it does. "We'll discuss what we're doing next in the command center. I need some of the information and documents in there. So it's smart just to talk in there." I have no problems regarding where we talk about this important mission. "We have a lot to talk about, and I'm going to need all your effort when we start this. We're taking on something that not even I've done before." Talk about hyping it up.
My curiosity about what we're going to do is peaked.
I follow right behind him as we enter the command center after navigating the hallways. I look and see there are cameras, weapons systems, and escape pods—all being monitored here. Durado heads to one of the servers and begins extracting data on a datapad. "Tell me what you know about Teller-Bravo?" He asks me a question as he continues with the server.
I've read several articles on Teller-Bravo. They're the biggest scientific and military megacorp in The Aeternus UNiverse. They literally built the modern hyperdrive and pioneered terraforming on worlds without any form of atmosphere and life.
I spend several minutes explaining what I've read, but when it comes to deeper information. Mainly being what they don't share with the public. I haven't bothered to dig.
I never thought my path would cross with Teller-Bravo. "You know what the public knows. What they really are is a megacorp that digs into very special fields of study and science. Mainly being human experimentation and Primordium research." I go a little stiff as I hear that.
I'm Primordium. I'm the last of my kind. If Teller-Bravo or Durado ever find out about me. It could lead down dangerous roads.
