~~~(POV: Lead Scientist in Decryption)~~~
The ruins are going absolutely crazy. We were all asleep, and suddenly, the entire structure has lit up and started preparing for some. What that is, I have absolutely no idea.
I'm currently in the control room for the ruins, along with many other fellow scientists trying to figure anything out.
However, as usual, we're locked out of the system, and we have no idea what's happening. "What in the hell is going on!?" A high-ranking member of Teller-Bravo bursts through the doors and storms toward where I'm at. His name is Larzacks, and he's a Telimorat.
I can't help but fumble at the sound of his voice, but I quickly recompose myself. "We don't know, sir! All of us were asleep in our quarters when the entire structure started to turn on! Now everything is running on automated systems we have no control over!" I speak loudly over the massive hums and groans of power coming from underneath our feet.
We haven't gained access to the lower levels of the structure yet. All we've been able to do is theorize there is a power source down there. With these noises, it seems it's true.
Larzacks starts speaking through an intercom our company set up around the ruins. It's not a part of the structure. "Everyone! Report to your stations and try to find out what's going on! I don't care if it's impossible or not! Just try!" There is nothing anyone can do in terms of trying to get into the system of the structure. It's not going to work at all.
So many brilliant and genius minds have tried as I look at the ancient Primordium console. Many green lights on the screen go red. It's all the Primodium language. We know very little of the language, but this is new in itself.
I press many buttons on the control panel, trying to find something out, but nothing works. "What the fuck is happening, egghead! What has everything gone red!" I can't answer because I don't know before he can say anything else.
The entire structure shakes, and new hums and sounds are coming from all over. Jarzacks turns on the security cameras that we installed around the ruins to see what's happening. They're not a part of the structure either.
We watch as what looks like weapons come out of several different chambers and holes outside.
They're everywhere and all over. "What the fu-!" They fire, and incredible bright lasers come out of the barrels of the weapons. They fly all over the place. I've never seen an Omni-directional laser that moves while flying before.
The next thing we know, all of our orbiting forces are being fired upon. Countless drones and real people are dying. Our entire fleet is annihilated, and a debris field is floating from above.
Parts of the fleet are falling toward the structure, but all of a sudden. Shields come up and protect anything from hitting the area around the ruins.
The barrels of the lasers point away from the sky and start to fire again. The comms are filled with screams of thousands of Mech pilots dying as they're getting hit by these lasers that can ignore physics.
I've never seen something made of purely focused energy move in any direction it wants. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!?!" In less than 1 minute, the structure has annihilated our fleet, all our drones, and all our mech pilots on planetside.
The only ones left alive are the ones that are in the structure with us. Everyone else is dead.
I take a seat in a chair and run my fingers through my hair. This was... Completely random and unpredictable. All signs pointed to the structure not having the power to function at full capacity.
That was obviously wrong. "Egghead... What the fuck just happened..." I don't know what to say in response to his question. Despite having an IQ of 171, I have no idea what's happened. "Tell me what happened, you damn Jerxol!!" He grips my lab coat and pulls me out of my chair. I stay silent as I avoid eye contact. This is a situation that none of us were prepared for.
