~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
~~~(Location: Immortalitas)~~~~

Durado is seething in anger from Immortalitas, not allowing us to jump to the Gord-Prime system and where his daughter is being held. That's if she's still alive...

That Parasite being loose means trouble. There are also reports of them popping up all over Impyra, and many neighboring galaxies are enacting the quarantine requested from the man in the transmission.

Whoever he is, he's probably saved billions of lives getting the news out, and Teller-Bravo is going to have some serious heat on them.

"Scott! Why isn't the ship allowing us to make the fucking jump!?"

My best guess is the ship knows what's going on and doesn't want us heading to the Gord-Prime system. This confirms my suspicions of an AI on board.

My long and annoyed sigh causes Durado to grit his teeth and clench his fists.

"Why don't you ask the ship? That's the reason why we can't go. There is probably some onboard AI preventing us from leaving. That's the only thing I can think of that could override my commands."

While Durado doesn't know that I'm a Primordium, he does know I control the ship.

He's unsatisfied with my answer, and he falls into his seat and runs his hands through his hair.

"Sorry... Just the thought of her..."

He doesn't need to finish that sentence for me to understand what he's going through.

"Scott... Are you more than what you appear?"

He's not an idiot, and I never planned to hide the truth from him forever.

There are some things that I don't want to be revealed yet, but telling him parts of it might do him some good.

"All I'm saying is while I look human, I'm not."

He cocks an eyebrow up and shakes his head. My fingers dance around the consoles, trying to override the security preventing us from making the jump to the Gord-Prime system.

I'm getting through all the security without any problems. The real issue is as soon as I break through the last walls, more pop up. They're being made as fast as I'm tearing them down.

"Immortalitas!! Why won't you let us head to Gord-Prime!?"

Voicing my question might have a different response this time.

Durado and I are met with silence, and it's starting to make me frustrated too.

"Scott Autumn. While you have authority over this vessel, I have the authority to prevent you from heading to systems that are suffering from infestations of The Primeval Inherent and its Parasite forms."

The feminine voice echoes through the massive Dreadnaught.

The voice is full of personality, sassiness, and attitude. Durado and I both look at each other in a confused manner.

"What the fuck does that mean! You stupid ship, bitch!"

I can't help cringing at the manner in which Durado decides to engage in conversation with the AI. The ship rumbles at the words of Durado. The ship seems to be a she...

I don't know if ships have genders though, the only thing we can go off of is the voice that talked to us.

"Your desire to rescue your daughter doesn't take priority over my mission. Keeping Scott safe is my primary function. So fuck off, asshole."

She uses technical terms, but she does sound like someone that's real. This is very advanced for an AI.

Before Durado can respond, I hold up my hand for him to stop.

"Mind telling me your name, AI? I'd like to know who I'm talking to..."

My request is met with silence at first... But before long, a floating and constantly shifting triangle comes into the command deck. It's of ancient Primordium design and truly is a work of art. My mind is already taking it apart and figuring it out.

There are advances in AI technology that the modern universe doesn't have, and it's all connected to the ship.

"My name is Aurora, and I'm the last of The Primordium Artificial Intelligences."

The triangle floats over to the console and proceeds to merge with the computers. A hologram of a deep violet woman appears.

I can't help walking up to it in fascination... I've never seen anything like this before...

"Hello, Aurora... It's nice to meet you... Mind telling me who or what The Primeval Inherent is?"

My questions about all the things I've seen are piling up, and this seems like the most important for me to be asking. If anyone would know, it'd be Aurora.
