Should I stop?

"Do you want me to prove that?"

Lewis's mind instantly short-circuited and went into a blank state. Devon furrowed her brows as she slowly drew her head back.

"My friend?" she called, tapping his shoulder lightly, but he didn't answer. "Lewis?"

Her light tapping gradually became stronger until she shook him back to his trance. Only after shaking him violently, Lewis' eyes snapped.

His eyes searched for her shaking eyes. "Did you…"

Lewis trailed off as he tried to recall what just happened. In his fresh memory, Devon kissed him, but he couldn't feel the warmth of her lips on his as he had numbed instantly.

"Are you alright?" Devon asked worriedly, as she didn't know this would be the effect on him!

He nodded his head slightly. "I was spacing out, I'm sorry."

"You worry me." A heavy sigh slipped past her lips.

"So, what are we talking about again?"
