Retaking a Test
He passed the early Tests with ease.
Adam mostly let Python and Light handle the monsters.
While Light was overwhelming his opponents with great strength and speed, Python was shooting Condensed Fire Balls.
Python was up in the air, attacking from a safe distance.
Light and Python had struggled a bit against the Red Orc, so Adam had used his new Skill, "Flying Conjured Knife".
He used to Skill to shoot the knives at the monster's leg to annoy it and grab its attention from time to time.
[Congratulations! You have passed Test Number 7.]
"Starting from now, always tell me what the next Test will be."
[The next Test will be a Mutated Polar Bear.]
"I'll skip. Light, Python. Don't attack the next one, it's mine." Adam said as he grabbed his Black Widow's Sword.
'Should be easy if I do it like Layla did... Kind of like she did it...'
[5 seconds left.]
The Fire Lion appeared right in front of Adam and he approached it right away.
As soon as it noticed him, it used its Fire Barrier to protect itself.
Adam who was now less than two meters away from it raised his sword with both arms.
"Oh..." Layla muttered.
"What? He's too far to hit it." Salma said.
As soon as he started swinging his weapon,
'Switch to the Battle Axe.'
A huge weapon appeared between his hands right where his sword was before.
He lowered the heavy weapon towards the barrier.
It immediately passed through it and hit the monster's skull.
The monster moved back and stopped using the barrier.
It was bleeding heavily.
'Switch back to the sword.'
He finished the monster.
[Congratulations! You have passed Test Number 9.]
[ The next Test will be one Troll.]
"I'll skip."
'Switching weapons uses up a lot of Endurance Points. Maybe this wasn't the wisest decision...'
[The next Test will be one Frost Cheetah.]
Adam stayed close to the center of the room and readied his sword.
[5 seconds left.]
A bright light appeared.
The Frost Cheetah looked around.
It found a huge black opponent and a flying red one.
The Frost Cheetah readied itself as it was about to sprint towards the big opponent.
The next instant, its head fell to the ground.
[Congratulations! You have passed Test Number 11.]
[The next Test will be one Thunder Eagle.]
"This Temporary Concealment really is useful..." Adam muttered.
"This son of a... I struggled against it so much!" Layla complained.
"He can't hear you. And you're the only one who struggled against it anyways hahaha." Salma said while laughing.
'That is a new record, I guess.' Adam thought.
"If I skip the next test, what will be the one after that?" Adam asked.

"Alright. I'll skip the next Test. Can you tell me now?"
[The next Test will be one Goblin Chief.]
"Oh, yeah! That guy was [E+]!" Adam exclaimed.
'I guess it's the top of the [E+] Rank... Although this one won't be armed. It won't have those Artefacts either...'
Adam, Light and Python easily dealt with the unarmed Goblin Chief.
They had defeated an armed Orc Leader after all, and that was before the Tamed Monsters had evolved.
[Congratulations! You have passed Test Number 13.]
[The next Test will be one Sonic Leopard.]
"Sounds like a drag. I'll skip."
[The next Test will be one Great Mutated Gorilla.]
"What..." Adam muttered.
"Light, go to the opposite side of the room."
Adam readied his sword and moved away from the center of the room and towards a corner.
Python was flying above him.
Light was positioned on the other side of the room.
[10 seconds left.]
"We'll attack at the same time, from different angles!" Adam shouted.
[5 seconds left.]
A bright light appeared.
Once it faded, Adam could see a wide back.
A very wide yellow back.
The Great Mutated Gorilla was at least 5 meters high and its hairs were yellow.
As soon as it noticed Light in front of it, the monster started banging its chest while roaring.
Light's eyes shined a bloody red as he growled at it.
Adam didn't miss a bit as he ran towards the monster's back.
'A hit from it could put me in a critical state. But my Sense Stat is high, so I should be able to sense its attacks. I might be faster, although that is not a given...'
Once he arrived behind the monster, Adam jumped up towards its back and switched his Black Widow's Sword with the Leader's Battle Axe.
The weapon's blade left a big wound on the monster's back.
It roared in anger and swung its arms backward as it turned its body to face Adam.
He let go of the Leader's Battle Axe and jumped back right away.
The gorilla appeared even larger now that it was facing him. It had large sharp fangs and its musculature made Adam think that it could fold him in half.
He felt shivers go down his spine as he took out his sword from his Inventory.
Just as the monster raised both its fists above its head, ready to swing them down on Adam's head, a Condensed Fire Ball exploded on the monster's face.
It was now even more annoyed than before.
As it slammed its fists on its chest, Light slashed the monster's back with his claws and bit its neck.
The Great Mutated Gorilla raised its arms to grab Light.
"MOVE!" Adam shouted.
But Light had already let go of the monster's neck.
He had learned his lesson against the Orc Leader.
Light backed off and the monster turned to face him.
'We are faster than it is. But it's probably incredibly strong.'
Adam took out his Old Assassin's Dagger.
He sprinted towards the monster and stabbed both weapons into its back with all his strength.
[You have backstabbed an enemy using the Old Assassin's Dagger. Damage dealt goes up by 200%.]
Adam jumped back without pulling his weapons outside of the monster's body.
Once again, the monster swung its fist towards Adam and Light bit its already wounded neck.
The monster roared louder than before.
Both Salma and Adam had to cover their ears.
The Great Mutated Gorilla had decided how it would fight the enemies.
It had taken lots of damage, so from now on, it would solely focus on the huge black opponent.
Adam took out his Goblin Chief's Greatsword and painted another huge wound on the monster's back.
As he jumped back, the monster sprinted towards Light.
"Shit! RUN AWAY!" Adam shouted.
Light growled at the monster and jumped back.
The Great Mutated Gorilla kept following, so Light kept jumping away.
Once he found himself backed against the wall, Light started growling and howling.
The monster thought it had cornered its prey and kept going.
But once it was a couple of meters away from Light, it fell and rolled on the ground until it hit the wall.
Once it opened its eyes, it noticed that a huge wound had appeared on the back of its knee.
Adam had swung the Leader's Battle Axe horizontally at its leg to keep it from catching up to Light.
"That's a good place to aim for. It won't be able to use that leg for a while." Layla noted.
"Is that so? That was too close though. Light was in real danger." Salma added.
'Alright. Now, let's just attack from a safe distance.'
Adam showered the monster with Flying Conjured Knives. He aimed some at its head, others at its stomach and the rest at its chest.
Python continued shooting his Condensed Fire Balls.
After a bit, the monster stopped moving.
[Congratulations! You have passed Test Number 14.]
[The next Test will be one Two-Headed Great Wolf .]
Adam started picking up his weapons.
"Rank of the gorilla?"
[The Rank of the Great Mutated Gorilla is [D-]. ]
"So it's the weakest of the [D-] monsters here... I'll leave. Fighting a wolf stronger than Light sounds scary."
At that moment, a screen appeared in front of Salma and Layla.
[Would you like to leave the Testing Room?]
Both answered and took the gate outside, just like Adam.

'Why is the list so small? Is it because I skipped lots of them?' He thought.
"It's fine anyway. I'll take the Frost Cheetah." Adam answered.

Layla was looking at the messages in front of her too.

She thought about it for a while.
"Three monsters, huh? I'll take three Frost Cheetahs then." Layla answered.
[The Everlasting Winter chuckles at your answer.]

[Your Revived Monsters are stored inside your Necromancer's Ring.]
The three walked towards the house while discussing their rewards.
"Whaaaat? I got the least rewards out of us! It must be because I was the first one to fight." Salma complained.
"You got those pills, no? What do they do?" Layla asked.
"My Sponsor says I should just keep them for now. I got a Necklace which helps me summon Roxie for an even longer period of time and something else, but that's it..."
"Layla got the most really. Three Frost Cheetahs. That's so good!" Adam said.
"Well, I got three of them, but they're Skeletons for now. They'll need a lot of Experience Points before becoming three actual Frost Cheetahs. You got one of them and the evolution scrolls thing. You got the best rewards out of us for sure." Layla explained.
"That makes sense. I do have the highest score in the world after all." Adam said arrogantly.
"I'll do better next time. You're lucky you had Light with you." Salma said.
"That's true... Anyway, Layla. Now that you have three Frost Cheetah's Skeletons, it'll be a lot easier to amass more Revived Monsters."
"Yeah. But the more Revived Monsters I have, the harder it'll be to make them as strong as the originals. Since each Skeleton needs lots of Experience Points. I'm thinking about only using these three for now. Plus they're FROST Cheetahs. They go well with me, an Ice Mage."
...
The three went home and had dinner.
It was already dark when they left the Testing Room.
They had taken their time, since they took turns.
Right after eating, they all went to sleep.
It had been a long day.
From the Leopard's Jungle to the Moonlit Graveyard and finally the Resting Room.
Adam had also gone through the Orc Camp earlier that day, although he had taken a nap.
Elizabeth and Calvin could only laugh seeing the kids so tired.
They all slept peacefully.
