Adam slept on the mattress Calvin had put next to the kitchen about a week earlier.
He woke up at about 6 am feeling great.
Everyone but him and Calvin was asleep.
Adam could feel the old man's presence outside.
He went outside the house and found him there.
"Good morning." Adam said with a gentle smile.
"Hello. Want me to cook you some breakfast?" Calvin offered.
"No. Am fine. Let's eat afterward. I'll cook." Adam said as he got closer.
"So? What do you think we should do?" Calvin turned to face the wheat field in front of him.
"You heard the hologram, right? When it said that monsters will start going outside of Dungeons in the future?"
"I did. It was not long after you all went missing. I didn't really focus on what it said that time."
Adam stood up next to Calvin. They both looked at the beautiful wheat field that the sun was starting to shine upon.
"The main thing is that we need to get stronger in order to survive. Those who don't enter Dungeons will have it a lot harder. Can you show me your stats? Just tell the System to show them to me." Adam asked.
"I see. That's what I thought too. Eum..System? Show us my Stats?" The old man said.
A screen appeared in front of the two.
[ Stats: Strength: 19
Agility: 14
Sense: 8
Vigor & Endurance: 31
Unused stat points: 0
]
"That's impressive... Your Vigor & Endurance stat is super high. All of them are pretty high really, except Sense." Adam said as he looked closely at Calvin's stats.
"Is that so? I have been getting weird messages as I worked in the fields."
"You start with much higher stats than children, but our progress is a lot faster when it comes to leveling up. Anyways, it's clear that we should focus on Strength and Agility training." Adam answered.
"And how do we do that?"
"We're going to run and lift heavy things. The other way to get stronger is to gain Experience Points, but you can't gain any of those without entering a Dungeon."
"How long do you think I need to train before I can enter a Dungeon?"
Adam looked at the old man for a bit. He was happy to see a grandfather wanting to protect his family enough that he would put himself at risk.
"Honestly, you could enter one right now if you wanted to. It would have to be an [F] Rank of course."
Adam proceeded to explain what Ranks are and how they affect Dungeons.
"Okay. I see. Thank you. I guess I will go run now. Go inside, the coffee that I made earlier should still be hot." Calvin told him.
"Oh. No. I am training too. I'll just do something different." Adam answered.
Calvin started running towards a tree that was about one kilometer away. His goal was simple, run to the tree and back as fast as he could, for as long as he could.
Meanwhile, Adam stood in front of the house.
"Status."

"The list of Titles got a lot longer. Getting to level 20 is also an insane boost in strength." Adam whispered.
[A Certain Evil says it is not nearly enough.]
'Is that so? Anyways, 24 Unused Stat Points. What to do?'
Adam sat down.
Calvin came and went multiple times.
After a couple of minutes, a little creature appeared out of the wheat field and got closer to him.
"Python? Did I forget you here? Oh. I told you to stay outside. Sorry." Adam said once Python got closer.
The Fire Salamander climbed up and rested on Adam's right shoulder.
"Alright. Just show me my stats. It'll be easier that way."

Endurance Cost: 50 Endurance Points. ]
"That's very cool. 50 Endurance Points still is about a quarter of my Max Endurance."
Adam decided to try it out.
He took out his Old Assassin's Dagger.
He raised his arm up.
Once he started swinging it in a downward motion, he thought 'Switch to the black sword'.
And before he could slash the air in front of him, the dagger had been switched out for the Black Widow's Sword.
"Alright! As long as I think about the Weapon, it works. I don't even need to think about the Weapon's actual name."
'This is exciting. Oh. Let's try that.'
He put his sword back into his Storage and took out the Goblin Chief's Greatsword.
He held in both hands.
It felt very familiar in his hands.
After swinging it a bit vertically and horizontally, he tried holding it in one hand.
It felt heavy, but he could easily hold it.
He even used swung it a couple of times with one arm.
It felt weird though, as it was too big to be used that way.
'Haha. I guess this one is going to be strictly for nostalgia and training from now on.'
It was understandable, as his Strength Stat was now at 60.
'How can I train now? The greatsword isn't heavy enough now. Running when my Agility already is at 50 feels like a waste of time since it would take forever for me to gain 1 Agility Point. Dexterity and Mana are all I have left, I guess.'
"How do I train my Mana Stat and my Dexterity Stat?"
The System answered vocally.
[ You can increase your Mana Stat the same way you increase your Magic Affinity Stat. You must focus on the Mana inside your body, use it repeatedly and learn how to control it.]
[ You can increase your Dexterity Stat by learning proper Swordsmanship. You must train in order to avoid unnecessary movements when fighting with a weapon.]
'Training Mana and Magic Affinity makes sense. But Dexterity, I really don't get it.'
Adam raised his hand and focused on the palm of his hand.
A light purple energy appeared around his hand.
He focused on it more and more and the energy got denser.
Its color was more and more pronounced.
He tried making it appear around his whole body, but he couldn't.
"Alright. Let's try to learn that. Salma did it on her first try."
