The Testing Room Pt.4
Flames were being condensed in front of the monster's open mouth.
Adam sprinted towards it as soon as he saw that.
When he was right in front of the monster, he jumped up towards it.
Right before Adam jumped, the Fire Lion launched its Fire Ball.
It hit Adam's leg as he was in mid-air.
The pain made him flinch, but he was determined to finish the fight at that moment.
Adam's hand was a dozen centimeters away from the Fire Lion's head when it reactivated its Fire Barrier Magic Skill.
'Step back? No. I'll go for it.'
The Barrier was formed in an instant.
For a second, Adam felt no pain despite the fire around his arm. That was thanks to his Mana Armor Skill.
But a second later, the pain quickly became unbearable.
Only once his hand reached the monster, did the pain fade away as the Fire Lion's head was transformed into ashes.
"Phew. That was a close one. It burnt like hell too." Adam said.
The System made it so that pain was felt only when damage was inflicted.
After drinking Medium Healing Potions, all that was left were a couple of burn marks.
'They'll heal over time thanks to my Sleeping Skill anyways.'
He replenished his Mana Points too.
'Alright. Last one. Let's get something easy so that that guy can win his bet. I really pushed myself though...' Adam thought.
"Rank? Next Test?"
[The Rank of a Fire Lion is [E+]. The Next Test is one Troll.]
"A Troll, huh? That's basically a big Orc, right? Shouldn't be too hard compared to the previous ones. It'll probably be [E+] rank too. It can't be as strong as the Spider Queen, right?" Adam muttered.
'If I can beat this Troll, that'll mean that anything below [D-] rank is not a threat to me. At least when there is only one of them. That means [F] rank Dungeons definitely won't be hard.'
[10 Seconds left.]
He took his habitual spot.
[5 Seconds left.]
He took out his Black Widow's Sword in one hand, and his Old Assassin's Dagger in the other.
A blinding light appeared.
"So that's...a Troll..." Adam muttered.
In front of him stood a huge monster.
It was as big as two Orcs one on top of the other.
It was much fatter than Orcs and had a larger build.
The skin of the monster was green. But the green was much much deeper than that of Hobgoblins or Orcs.
Adam's head barely arrived at the monster's waist.
'Thank god its senses are dull. I guess we're back to brute strength.' He thought.
He stood around for a bit, waiting for the countdown on his Temporary Concealment Skill to pass.
Then, he sprinted towards the Troll.
Adam appeared behind it, but it still had no idea that he was there, so he used all his strength to swing his sword at the monster's leg.
He attacked right behind the knee.
Green blood flowed and the monster lost its balance and fell on one knee.
Adam took advantage of that and stabbed its back with both his weapons.
[Your Old Assassin's Dagger has backstabbed an enemy. Damage dealt goes up by 200%.]
The monster cried because of the pain and extended its arms towards its wounded back.
It fell on its stomach.
'Alright. Easier than I thought. Let's let it bleed to death.'
The next moment, the monster stood back up.
Adam looked at its leg.
It was completely healed.
He turned his gaze towards the two deep wounds on its back.
Both were healing very fast.
"What the hell..." He muttered.
'So this guy can heal himself?'
A Fire Ball came from behind Adam and hit the wounded back of the Troll.
It turned around after screaming.
It roared while tapping its chest with both fists.
The Troll jumped towards Adam and slammed its arms down.
Its arms hit the ground, while Adam had stepped back.
He slashed at his hands, just like he had done to the Red Orc, but this time, the wrists were too thick to be cut completely.
Plus, a second later, the wounds started healing.
"Son of a bitch...." Adam muttered as he looked at the huge monster in front of him.
The Troll slowly pulled itself back up.
While Adam was too surprised to care about his surroundings, the monster kicked him with its left leg.
Adam noticed the attack soon enough to protect his body with his arms. But despite that, he was sent flying.
He fell to the ground about 8 meters further.
The attack did not deal much damage thanks to his Mana Armor Skill.
Adam quickly stood up. He hadn't let go of his weapons.
'Attack is lower than an Orc's. Agility is between that of the Mutated Polar Bear and the Orc. Health Points are probably higher than the Mutated Polar Bear's Health Points. Its regenerative ability is the problem. It doesn't move much, which means that its Endurance might be used continually to heal its injuries quickly. The only way to win is to deal lots of Damage fast, without giving it time to recuperate.'
Adam raised both his weapons and sprinted towards the monster.
As it saw Adam approaching, it tried kicking him once again.
The small opponent easily dodged the attack and slashed his Sword across the Troll's leg.
He continued running until he arrived between the monster's leg and slashed the other leg with his Dagger.
Adam, then, quickly positioned himself behind the Troll and slashed both its legs behind the knee.
It fell.
A Fire Ball hit the monster on its face.
'Nice one Python.' Adam thought as he stabbed the monster's back continually.
After stabbing it 4 times with both weapons, the monster fell to the ground.
Adam stabbed the monster back with the Old Assassin's Dagger and the Black Widow's Sword and left them embedded inside.
He walked on its body towards its head as he conjured a weapon.
'A big Mace. All My Mana Points. 5 Seconds.'
A Mace as big as the Goblin Chief's Greatsword appeared in his hands.
[ Massive Conjured Mace [D-]. Attack Power: 230. Duration: 4seconds.]
Adam smashed the huge weapon on the monster's neck and head again and again.
Since it was weightless, he could smash it down very quickly.
He slammed it 7 times on the monster with all his strength before it turned to ashes.
A Fire Ball hit the monster's side.
Right after that, Adam took his Goblin Chief's Greatsword outside of his Storage and slammed it many times on the monster's head, until...

Adam walked away from the monster's body and took a series of deep breaths.
'This...wasn't that hard....but it sure....was tiring...'
He sat on the ground and drank Mana Potions.
'Should I leave now?'
Like to answer the question he asked himself, a private message arrived.
[A Certain Evil says that you should climb as high as you think you can.]
"Rank? What's the next test?"
[The Rank of the Troll is [E+]. The next Test is one Frost Cheetah.]
"Cheetahs are fast right? Frost is annoying since it can make you slower..." Adam muttered.
"That's it for today. Come Python, let's leave. We'll come back once we're stronger."

A Gate appeared in the middle of the room.
He slowly walked towards it.
[10 Seconds left.]
"What the hell?" Adam ran towards the Gate and crossed after hearing that.
Once he was back outside, he realized.
"Hahaha. Even if you're in the middle of battle you can leave, but the monster doesn't disappear. You must escape from it and take the Gate. Which is why it was about to appear." Adam said as he stretched his body.
He was back.
It was still very bright and sunny.
He had only stayed about an hour inside the Dungeon.

"What the hell? For real? In a way, that's better than Experience Points or Artefacts." Adam chuckled.
'Ummm, which one should I pick? The Orc obviously is the strongest. But it would be annoying to have it around as it looks scary. I would have loved the Fire Lion but...I guess the next best option is the Black Wolf Alpha.' Adam thought.
"I choose the Black Wolf Alpha!" Adam shouted.

Adam raised his hand, and a red jewel appeared in his hand.
"What's that?" He asked.
[ Artefact: Monster Tamer Jewel [D]
A red jewel used by all Monster Tamers. The Tamer's Familiars can be kept inside of the jewel. It can take on many forms, such as a ring, a bracelet, an earring, a nose ring or a necklace. Once the Jewel takes a form, it will stay that way indefinitely.

"This is too good! With this, I might already be able to go climb some more. I'll take it as a bracelet." Adam said.
A Bracelet appeared around Adam's left wrist.
[ The Monster Tamer Jewel has become The Monster Tamer's Bracelet.]
"Umm... Come out?"
Suddenly, the black wolf came out of the bracelet in a flash.
It jumped on Adam and licked its face.
"Alright. Alright." Adam said while petting its head.
'I'll think of a name later. Maybe I'll ask Salma and Layla.'
"Go back in. Python, you too." Both Familiars entered the Bracelet.
'Nice. ' Adam thought.
He stared at the Blue Gate for a while before walking away.
'I wonder how high I'll go next time...'
