The room fell into silence except for a young women's soft cries.
"There no need to be rude, Kurt."
Moving to one of the shelves for some paper, I draft a quick note in Ghukliak to the goblin commander.
"I thought you had an understanding with Lord bubble butt, dad."
Then another in Dethek for El Dorado
"I am without my gem, and he thinks he understands what that means."
Kurt took my seat and slowly spread like a cat.
"So can I kill them or not?"
I count to ten in my head before answering, "Let me try to handle this by the rules first."
With a dismissive wave, my son answers, "You always have so many rules."
I was going to have to reteach him discipline.
"I miss Hell."
Now that was new.
"At least there I can just kill my enemies."
He always hated the place before, and I can't imagine what changed.
A wave of ghostly energy washes over the room, the maps, tables, and Logan go flying away from a furious young woman.
"STOP IGNORING ME!"
Her body transformed into a pale mist of flesh, Rouge voice echoed.
"YOU ALWAYS ACT LIKE I AM NOT HERE!"
The energy grew with each word.
"STOP TREATING ME LIKE A KID!"
White flames ignited threw out the room roaring to life with each word.
"I JUST KILLED PEOPLE!"
Guards arrive, weapons drawn.
Kurt waved his hand, putting out the flames.
Logan stood and crossed his arms.
A wave of my hand puts even the specks of dust back in place. "Are you done, girl?"
Tears flowing, she tumbles to the floor human once more. "Please help me."
I signal to the guards to stand down.
"Do you think you're the first person to be hurt? Do you think you are the last?"
I walk over to the guards handing them the notes.
"Quickly before they overreact."
Kurt walked up to Rouge, hands out in mock surrender, "Are you still hungry?"
Her arms wrapped around her stomach protectively, "What are you talking about?"
Kurt's smile slips, "You were that out of it, honey. "
As I quickly checked on Logan, I asked, "Are you saying you don't remember?"
She looks down, "Remember what?"
Kurts laugh filled the room as he shooed away the guards.
"You know, I think my feelings are a little hurt."
I didn't have time for this.
"Leave it, son."
Kurt smiled turns cruel, "But my virginity."
"Leave it; for now, Kurt, we don't have the time."
Logan uncrossed his arms, "What are you talking about?"
I did not want to deal with my son's sex life, "Nothing for now, just understand that she needs to be around Kurt, me, or you at all times for the safety of the people around her."
I heard real emotion in Kurt's words for the first time all day, " Him?"
A soft whispered, "Why?" drew my attention back to the little miss.
"You need to feed." I didn't have the temperament for the poor child.
"Feed on what?"
With a wave, Kurt energetic waved to himself
"Us."
Logan looked between us all.
"I don't understand."
Kurt patted him on the shoulder, "You will; let's clean her up."
There was nothing for it but to " Take her to Hell."
"What?" Cried, Logan and Rogue.
Kurt took a knee next to her, "You will be safe there."
Logan slowly helps Rouge stand, "I am coming with."
"O, that's sweet for a human." Kurt's smile was all fangs now.
"I was not asking, bud."
Rogue was holding onto Logan like a newborn.
"Take him." The girl was too valuable to lose now that her powers were awake.
"She will kill him."
I shrugged, "His powers will protect him; now take them while I deal with this mess."
An hour of packing later, Kurt took them off in a cloud of black smoke. As I looked for Lockhart, one of the Guards handed me a letter. The goblin commander outside asks for a meeting, and I found Gil and Peter in the buttery near the kitchen.
After some cabinet counsel on the goblin army outside, Gill pointed out one of the maids, "Your maid is having some fascinating thoughts, master."
I almost didn't see her in the gaggle of servants. If not for my fight with Fury and, most likely, Hawkeye, I wouldn't have been actively aware she may be in the area. A maid with hopelessness on her face was cleaning. I usually wouldn't have paid her any mind at all but for her red hair.
The power of a spy is that they can look like anyone and move around an everyday crowd seen but unknown. I knew who this woman was, but right now, she seemed less.
All warfare is deception, and right now, she appears to be weak, unprepared, even small in size. She was a wall or chair, nothing more.
After the disaster of my time working with Captian America, I completely broke the timeline. If the flap of a butterfly's wings can create a hurricane, you may as well flag a hurricane.
"Come, Lockhart."
Check my outfit for dust. I introduce myself.
"You human, me, and my student require service; remove your clothes."
Her jaw dropped
"What?" "WHAT!"
Gill screamed.
"Master, the sexiest thing this girl can do for me is to point me at her brother."
Quickly waving his arms and hands, Gills panicked.
"You don't know that Gill, she is pretty if a bit common it is only proper you try her once before making up your mind on women."
Credit, where credit is due, the woman, didn't break character. If anything, the way she was slowly positioning herself next to Gill seemed fearful, if not for the way her hands seemed to be holding something not there just yet.
"I don't know about that master."
Waving to Gill, I continued, "Do you see the problem? I want grandkids."
As Gill shielded the girl from me, "Master, adaption is a thing."
Her smile was frail, but her eyes kept gradually shifting, looking for a getaway.
"Fine, fine, Gill, you're a little shy; why not just supervise."
Hands-on his hips, Gill looked posh, "What is wrong with you?"
Quick as teleportation, the maid had her weapon drawn and pointed at the back of my student's head.
"I am just playing with a black widow."
All emotion drained from her.
Her face was granite.
"Is that Stark tech?"
I thought he had stopped producing weapons at this point.
"Aren't you some all-seeing seer?"
It was like talking to a corpse, cold, mechanical, and coarse.
"Shouldn't you know?"
Gill's attempt to turn around was met with a blow to the head, " Keep those eyes off me, brain boy."
I was impressed Lockhart hadn't been on Earth for years, and Shield was well informed.
"I don't mean to scare you."
Stark tech was always over the top, and even their handguns used .50 caliber rounds.
"It takes a lot to scare me."
She wraps an arm around Gill's neck and slowly makes her way into the great hall.
"Then thank you."
As I follow her past the long tables and fleeing maids, she stops, "For what?"
Gill sends me a terrified gaze.
"For the way you choose to die, Miss Romanoff, thank you so very much."
Like a viper, she pulls the trigger into Gill's back.
The floor moved to trap her feet like liquid, but her steps were light and elegant as she ran.
The guards, alerted by the gunshot, finally took note of what was happening began to chase the assassin.
I, not wanting to waste my time, just made my way to my son's study, picked up the loyalty potion from his cabinet, and calmly suited up.
Making my way to the dungeon, I walk past the guards and down the medical wing.
The walls, floor, and ceiling were diabase, a subvolcanic rock; each of the cells looked more like a medical room than prison as I used them interchangeably most times.
As I walked in, I discovered Miss Romanoff in the process of liberating Exemplar Fury.
"Imperio."
The spy rolled out of the way, then jumped, slipping through a new tiny hole in the ceiling.
Taking my time, I started to reattach the binding on Fury as I tried to get the girl to see sense.
"I think having you as an enemy would be a mistake."
Fury screamed as I forced the stake back into his spine.
"I think Fury is necessary for the future."
Furys howled curse after curse as the second stake ripped apart his shoulder.
"I think we will be getting attacked soon."
Fury holds in the pain as I replace the last gem stake.
I recast the silencing spell on the Director as three bursts fight off so fast they may as well have happened at the same time.
A grey barrier of energy springs to life, stoping the ammunition as my suit does its job.
"Don't let me keep you." She was still in a maid outfit; the gun pointed at my head.
"You're coming with me."
The stone floor, walls, and ceiling quiver as my magic prepared to attack.
"I am fine here, thanks."
Like a wave, the stone consumed her before she fired her gun. Once she was secure, I prepared two drinks.
The stone moved, and I brought a floating Miss Romanoff to a different cell.
I drank the first glass; the stuff tasted good.
Before approaching the spy with the second cup, "Open."
She stubbornly refuses to even look at me, so grabbing her face I being to force her mouth open.
"You can drink it with your mouth, or you can drink it with your nose bitch."
After force-feeding her the bottle, I went to one of the shelves and removed a slave collar. Once it was firmly in place, I cast the
imperius curse with the hopes of defeating whatever plot armor the cunt had.
I heard footsteps outside the room and met Lockheart and a few guards.
"Are you, alright master."
As I look back at the widow, "I am fine but stay the fuck out of my head Gill, it puts me in a bad mood."
My student and the guards secured the prisoner as I counted to ten in my mind.
"Lockheart, I want you to interview Director Fury if he knows it; we know it."
As I led him to the Exemplars cell, I made my position clear, " We're going to have to talk about where that new power of yours comes from when I get back."
A moment of regret washes over me, but I mercilessly stomp it down.
I can have feelings when there wasn't an army at my doorstep.
"Guard, please inform the goblin commander I will be with them shortly."
I still need to expire the last of the ghost girls, I know Kurt wanted them, but the Succubus is too valuable to my plans to leave any loose ends.
"Yes, Lord Frost."
