Good Deeds

Yara Amiel had never met someone like the stranger who was sitting beside her. If he can't leave alive due to offending her, he will just accept his fate?

Didn't he value his life at all?

"Are you lying or are you a fool?" she asked him with a bit of confusion. She didn't understand him at all.

"I'm not lying and I'm not a fool either," Karium Maselli simply replied. "It's just my nature."

Princess Yara was never the type to trust someone easily. However, she finds herself believing whatever the stranger said. Maybe because he was too different compared to other people. What's more? The aura he possessed was strange and his calmness was something.

Was he... perhaps... a royal too?

She brushed off her assumption when she recalled how he was willing to apologize so easily despite being not the one at fault.

No royal would have such a mindset.

The sun that was about to set took Princess Yara back to reality. Then she abruptly stood up.

How could she forget her promise to her sister-in-law? If she didn't return on time, she would be up for an earful again!

Prince Karium immediately stood up with a surprised face and grabbed her hand when she was about to walk. "What's the matter?" he asked.

"I have to return now. It's getting late," Yara Amiel replied as she glanced down at his hand which holds hers. Then she freed herself from his grip.

"You said you have just a day left, right?" she asked and Karium Maselli nodded. "Then I'll stop. But if I still see you in Avaria after that, you will have to pay for it."

She mounted on her horse but the Prince stood beside her. "Then can I meet you once again? Tomorrow is my last day here."

Princess Yara slightly raised a brow when she heard him. Was he even aware of what he was asking?

"Why would you want to meet me again?" she simply asked.

Now that he got what he wanted, shouldn't he try to be away from her as much as possible?

"I lost two days and now I'm left with just one. So, as someone from this kingdom, I hope you could pick out some good places for me," Karium Maselli replied.

He had never once asked someone to accompany him. It was the first but... he was always sure of what he was doing.

Though he can't live the way he wanted, he was never the type to hesitate whenever there was something he wanted.

He always stayed true to himself.

The God of War was that kind of person.

"Are you asking me to be your tour guide for the day?" Yara Amiel asked with disbelief written all over her face.

If only he knew who he was asking!

However, she had a feeling that meeting someone who wasn't aware of her identity could be quite fun. She heard and experienced many things for the first time.

As she was the Princess, everyone was careful around her. No one had ever acted this bold to her before!

Little did she know he was feeling the same. He knew that many looked him down as he was just the half-brother of the King but... they never dared to show it.

"You can't?" Karium Maselli asked.

"Why would I?" Yara Amiel simply asked him back.

"You can just consider it as doing a good deed. Helping others is not that bad," Karium Maselli replied without thinking much.

Didn't he know that the one who he was talking to was a darkened soul? She was a devil in angel disguise who already dropped doing good deeds from her bucket list years ago!

"Good deeds," Yara Amiel muttered the two words, her eyes barely opened as if she was bored. "I'm not interested."

Karium Maselli blinked when he heard her frank yet blunt response.

If his sister-in-law knew that he asked a woman to accompany her and got rejected, she would surely freak out! He was convinced that the Queen will do anything to track down the woman!

"Why are you making that face?" Princess Yara asked him with a confused face.

Prince Karium slightly smiled and looked at her. "If my sister-in-law heard that a woman rejected my invitation, she will surely do anything to track you down."

His sister-in-law? The Princess was reminded of her own sister-in-law.

Why are sisters-in-law too hard to deal with?!

Once again, her promise crossed her mind. "I really have to go. If I don't return before the sunset, it will be a headache to deal with my sister-in-law too."

"Really?" Karium asked and raised a brow. "You don't look like one who would be afraid of her sister-in-law."

Yara Amiel almost laughed at his words! Afraid? He's too clueless!

"You're wrong," she argued. "I'm not listening to her because I'm afraid of her. It's out of respect."

She couldn't believe that she was talking about herself to a stranger but... it happened.

Since when did she develop such a habit? She had no idea.

Prince Karium was surprised to know that they had at least one thing in common. He thought of the same about his brother and sister-in-law.

She appeared quite cruel but it seemed like at least her family had a soft spot in her heart.

Yes, he knew that she was cruel. No kind being would be eager to kill someone who caused them no harm.

He knew that it was because he watched her that day while he shouldn't but... it couldn't justify her desire to kill him.

But now, he was convinced that he had succeeded in turning the tables.

"I have to go," Yara Amiel said for the third time. She suddenly turned her horse around and started riding but... she halted when she was a few steps away from him.

Then she turned around to face him once again. "Tomorrow. Meet me near the Saron Gate. Don't be too late."

Without even waiting for his response, she turned her horse around again and left the place while Prince Karium stared at her disappearing form with a subtle smile on his lips.....
