DEFYING THE STARS: Falling For An Enemy

"Eliana!" King Edric shouted and quickly held his wife who collapsed in Karium's arms while the royal guards quickly ran in their direction.

Most of the guests abruptly rose from their seats and a murmur erupted in the hall.

Slowly recovering from the shock, Karium picked up the wine cup which the Queen used and sniffed it. Then his eyes grew wide.

"It's poison!" He quickly turned to the Captain of the Royal Guards and commanded, "Call the doctor! Hurry!"

The Captain quickly send a guard to fetch the doctor as the Prince ordered.

"Seal the palace," Karium uttered. "No one should enter or leave."

Another guard quickly left to relay the order to the guards at the main gate of the palace. Everyone in the room remained still at their place, wondering who would commit such a crime.
