The Missing Portrait

Yara Amiel rose from her seat and glanced down at Andrus who was on his knees. "You don't regret it. What's the use of apologizing?"

"I was thoughtless," Andrus promptly said as he lowered his gaze. "I should have trusted you as you said but I act on my own. Please forgive me, Your Highness."

Yara Amiel just realized that it was because of what she said before she left.

"I'm already grounded," she said, maintaining a nonchalant face. "There is no use to apologize now."

"It won't happen again," Andrus bravely insisted and looked up at her once more. "Just this once, Your Highness. Please give me just one more chance. I will never disappoint you again."

"You should know the weight of your words, Andrus," Yara warned in a stern voice. "You know what kind of person I am and how I hate those who can't keep their promise."

"I'm well aware of that, Your Highness," the guard replied.
