One more day passed when Karium and Lena along with the two guards finally reached the capital.

When King Edric Maselli heard of the assassination attempt from the guards, he took it very seriously and once the guards left, he quickly turned to his brother.

"You should go after them, Karium," he promptly said. "This is not a small matter. They even said they will come for you again!"

"I don't think I'll be able to make them talk even if I catch them, Edric," Karium stated. "The way they look at me... I saw hatred in their eyes."

Edric Maselli sighed. "I know you're worried about the Avarian Princess but I sent 10 guards for you. Why did you return with just two? You should at least let Lance follow you."

"I trust Lance the most. How can I send her back with just the other guards?" Karium simply said to his brother in a calm voice. "I'm fine, Edric. Lena is the one who gets injured but fortunately, it's not serious."
