Yun Che carefully pulled little Chen out, and wrapped his long fingers around Chen Chen's soft little hand, while Zhou Zeyu and Lu Haixuan also approached without a word. A large bulletin board stood at the entrance of the Psionic Association, on which there were various official or personal missions in different font colors.
The missions in purple were generally released by the military, most of which were extremely difficult. The red ones were officially released. There were SSS-level missions which were very hard, as well as simple D-level missions such as collecting ordinary zombies' crystal nuclei. Personal missions were advertised in black, most of which included searching for people and things, which were mostly more difficult although they looked otherwise. What's more, the rewards given by individuals were not as generous as the military's and the officials', which was the reason why most people were more willing to take on official and military missions.
Unsurprisingly, when Yun Che and his companions went in, they attracted a lot of people's attention. Without looking sideways, they went straight to the counter at the bottom."
"Taking on missions or registering?"
The receptionist's attitude was terrible, and she didn't even bother to look up at them. If it was before the eschaton, her service attitude would have been complained multiple times. However, given the current situation, surviving was already extremely difficult, so who would care about the service attitude? Straightly speaking, if dignity could fill their stomachs, they would probably chew it up and swallowed it. Under current circumstances, things like human rights and dignity were of no importance at all.
"Registering a squad."
Yun Che had been used to this kind of things in his previous life, and he was not offended. Zhou Zeyu and Lu Haixuan had experienced various ups and downs, so naturally they wouldn't bother.
"Pa…"
The receptionist bent over and took out a piece of paper which she then slammed on the counter. They clearly saw the impatience on her face when she raised her head. However, after seeing their looks and neat clothes, her attitude changed completely. Her face lit up with a smile which she thought was very sweet: "Sorry, I was infuriated by several squads just now. You want to register, right? Please fill in the names of the squad and the captain, the number of your members and the psionics in it, and the attributes of their magic power."
The woman who must have been over thirty leaned over and pointed at the form while introducing the details to them, whose enthusiasm immediately made others feel like they were being treated unfairly.
"Thank you."
Yun Che nodded smilingly with little Chen in his arms, and Chen Chen said smartly, "Thank you, auntie."
"Au…auntie…"
The woman was a little enraged by the way he addressed her, so she gave him a piercing stare. When she looked at Zhou Zeyu and Lu Haixuan, she smiled awkwardly, "Little boy, remember, don't call me auntie, I'm your sister."
"Ok."
With his dashing eyebrows knitted, Little Fatty Chen obviously did not agree, but he nodded smartly. Yun Che turned around with Chen Chen in his arms. Maybe the child with him had made women think that he was unavailable, he didn't draw much of their attention.
"Sorry, can you let go of it?"
Zhou Zeyu and Lu Haixuan were a little displeased, for the woman's hand was still pressed against the form.
"Oh, don't hesitate to ask me if there's anything you don't understand."
After that, the woman made eyes at him, which made Zhou Zeyu's hair stand on end. He turned around and left with the form in his hand immediately. Lu Haixuan took a step before him, for they knew that they would be willing to change their stripes if they stayed longer.
"Uncle, why did that lady ask me to call her sister? Obviously, I should call her auntie."
"Well, maybe she thinks she is only old enough to be your elder sister. Chen Chen is too young to understand. Women want others to call them sisters instead of aunties, even if they are actually not that young."
"Oh … Does it mean I should call other women 'sisters' in the future?"
"You don't want to do that?"
"Well, my mother said that a good boy shouldn't lie, and Chen Chen wants to be a good boy."
"Oh… That's it. You can call them whatever you want in the future, you don't have to do anything against your will, I got you."
"Ok…"
Although they had already left, their conversation had clearly spread throughout the hall of the Psionic Association. The woman behind the counter was furious, while others laughed and gloated. They thought Yun Che was stupid to have offended Miss Sun, who was in charge of registration.
Of course, not all of them were jealous of their bright clothes and spirits. A few squads staying in the hall were still calm. They would be lying if they say that they weren't envious. Who didn't want to live like before when they had clean clothes to wear? But they had to take current circumstances into consideration. Staying alive was already a blessing. However, they didn't let their jealousy cloud their judgement, for only twenty days in the eschaton had taught them a lesson, which was that meddling in others' business would highly likely bring about their own downfall!
The only people on the spot who kept their composure were probably Zhou Zeyu and Lu Haixuan. Yun Che appeared to be harmless, and even a bit fragile. He usually wouldn't bother with trifles, unless he was completely irritated by others. What was more, his errand boy was right behind him.
Well, it seemed that Xing Feng would be Yun's errand boy for the rest of his life.
